Sweet Chix Kitchen — Restaurant in North Hampton

My gosh, where do I even start. First off, the menu online is wrong. So we were attracted to eat here by food they don't even serve, so be aware of that. Prices are also incorrect, and not by an insignificant amount. When we walked in, lady didn't even say hi, just jabbed at a menu like a cavewoman. Instead of asking if we had any questions, she was incredibly concerned about what TV channel we wanted to watch, even though we could have cared less about that. She also informed us it would be 25 minutes until finished, since it's all done from scratch. She kept reiterating this to us. Little did we know we should have just asked for a refund and run. We sat down at a sticky table. She just would not stop talking to us. Kept asking pointless questions that I knew were aimed at making us feel comfortable, but it got to the point where she interrupted our conservation 3 times in 5 minutes. I had asked for some water, which ironically was never delivered, despite her insistence on asking so many questions just moments before. I had to go ask myself for the waters, to which I could not find her. All I heard was shouting in the back between her and the cook. Other patrons were being served before we were, despite ours being a smaller order. I also noticed that they had a preference to fill Ubereats orders before sit-in patrons, so be aware of this. Our order finally came out and it was just hilariously wrong. We would be more angry, but at that point, we were just laughing at how incompetent everything was lol. I got chicken and waffles. Chicken was bone-in (menu does not say this and let's be honest...who the eff does bone-in chicken for waffles). The waffles tasted like their seasoning rack fell into the waffle mix. Person with me got a box of boneless white meat chicken. None of it was white meat haha. The lady even specifically asked to clarify if we wanted white meat...and then got it wrong anyways. We found several pieces of bone-in chicken in there as well for some reason? Chicken itself is really nothing to write home about, but it is acceptable chicken on the whole. I went to sue the restroom and there were no paper towels whatsoever to dry my hands on, so I just shook my hands to dry them, as did everyone else there. Have been twice now, the regular fried chicken is pretty good, could use a few more spices IMO but was cooked to perfection. The mac N cheese was a bit disappointing, I prefer yellow mac n cheese made from macaroni and this is shell pasta with some kind of white Alfredo/cheese sauce, The pasta salad was not too bad but nothing I would order again. The nashville hot chicken was wayyyy to hot and seemed to just be sprinkled with a dry hot seasoning. I would not get that again for sure. I was thinking something along the lines of Popeye's but this was really hard to eat. I get some people like hott but my lord you should be able to taste some chicken as well? The hours are weird, open at 11:30 so if you work in the area and want to pick up/take out for lunch you pretty much have to wait till 12:30 before your food is ready as some of the staff walked in with me at exactly 11:30. Lady said she starts taking orders at 11am but when we called twice at 11:10 no one ever answered. I ate in my 2nd time, nice atmosphere excellent staff. Being the only fried chicken game in town I am eager for a successful Fried chicken rest, to come to the area and I feel they can really take off with a few adjustments IMO, However I get the sense they are not 100% committed to it yet as they probably want to see how sales go before committing but thats just the sense I get I could be wrong on that. Prime time! Had the classic chicken sandwich which was amazing... chicken was perfectly fried with a nice light batter... i hate to say this but it's true.... I would say on a level this chicken sandwich was better then Dave's hot chicken! And i love Dave's.... so far making it the best chicken sandwich in the area!... also had the macaroni and Nashville hot chicken, I wasn't going to get the Nashville hot chicken sandwich because I just came from louisville ky where I had one of the best Nashville hot chicken sandwich, so I didn't think anything could beat it.... especially in this area.... but when I ate the Nashville hot chicken with the macaroni I was blown aways how authentic the Nashville hot chicken was to the real deal.... I've been to Nashville and had them there... this was as close as it gets if not the same!!! Last thing i had was the chicken soup and when it came out il looked bland like some of my family member make... but when i ate the soup i was blown away the chcicken flavor in the broth! Me and my friend were joking saying the must have natural flavors in it and MSG... Ha i hope not, but best chicken soup flavor i have ever had out side the home!
