We like the facility and the amenities it provides. However, I have to share a disappointing encounter we had. We came one Sunday to introduce our kids to badminton. When we arrived, a group of older adults were playing on the badminton court and signed their names several times for the next 45 minutes. I think the rule is 15-minute intervals occupancy. Nevertheless, out of courtesy, we put our names next on the sheet and came back to play, but only for just a little while since that same group interrupted and took the court back.
I have never encountered such rude, petty and childish behavior like from these individuals. Even worse as we were there with our children. This group had no issue arguing loudly in front of small children, ignoring rules and civil decorum even at a community center.
We complained to the front desk, who asked them to leave. Two of four from the group left. The other two remained and continued playing. Just to mind you again, this is over badminton.
We learned that they are regulars who come almost everyday playing badminton. This turns out too much like schoolyard playground. Not what a community center should be, imho.
I hope this is just an isolated incident that we encountered a couple of Asian Karen’s. Regardless, I want to share my experience, hopefully the center can enforce its...
Read moreI would love to give a more detailed review but this place is completely unfriendly to the average busy parent. The open gym for tots (5 and under) is skewed primarily to infants. Everything is meant for children around 1year old. Clearly this program is not conceptualized by anyone with toddlers. I came into make use of the center with my two kids 5 and under. The rec center has a free pass (great) but you still need a babysitter if you want to work out. The staff suggested I leave my two Pre-k girls in front of the exercise area as opposed to inside where I can see them because it's a liability to take them inside of the gym area. Is it not a liability to leave your children unattended by the men's bathroom? Of course it is! Also despite this being a community center the staff aren't that friendly or engaged in the ongoings. It's conceptually a good idea to have a rec center like this one but execution lacks...
Read moreThis place is beautiful! At little more than a year old, this Community/Recreation center is an active hub of the community.
They have a gorgeous multipurpose field with lines painted for soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey. They have a street hockey area, basketball courts, and a playground with two age ranges.
The inside has a game room with ping-pong tables, one arcade game, and one pinball game. There is one each a large and small gymnasium court. The small court has a rock climbing wall. There are exercise studios with large mirrored walls, that could be used for exercise or dance classes.
Down the other end of the building are myriad rooms for meetings or gatherings. They range from board-type round table to classroom style or arts and crafts style. There is a room with quiet games, such as chess or checkers. Finally, the building is capped out with solarium for quiet contemplation or simply...
