Altoona–Blair County Airport — Local services in North Woodbury Township

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an absolutely fantastic experience flying into Altoona (AOO) in late July. From start to finish, everything was convenient, relaxing, and surprisingly stress-free — a rare combo when it comes to air travel these days!

A huge shoutout to the staff at AOO Altoona Regional Airport for their friendly and welcoming vibe. The airport is small but mighty — clean, efficient, and easy to navigate. No long lines, no chaos… just in and out with ease.

Contour Airlines made the trip from Tampa (via Charlotte) incredibly smooth. The flight was comfortable, on-time, and hassle-free. Honestly, I can't thank Contour and the Airport Authority enough for making it so easy to get back to Blair County after nearly 8 years away.

And last but not least, the Avis Car Rental team at AOO was excellent. Super helpful, quick check-in and return process, and the vehicle was in great shape.

I never thought I’d say this, but flying into Altoona was one of the most relaxing travel experiences I’ve had in a long time. Can’t wait to do it...

The airport is nice and convenient for the area, however the airline is horrible. I thought the previous one was bad but Contour airlines is not making a great first impression. Had a morning flight to Philly cancelled an hour prior to the flight due to “airplane issues.” I don’t know, maybe if you know there is an issue with the plane, you notify passengers more than an hour prior. Now I had to drive all the way to Philly to make my connecting flight. Skip the hassle and go to the State College airport.

First the Airport itself is a 5 Star. Friendly staff who tries there best. Contour Airlines is zero stars. 3 cancellations in a row in a two day period leaving me stranded in Philadelphia with no way to Altoona. Use caution when booking Contour. They didn't even offer a refund. There were other passengers stranded in Philadelphia for 2 days because of Contours cancellations with no explanation. The notice given a flight was cancelled was literally by boarding time. I am so frustrated beyond words and will never fly this...
