Hannaford — Local services in Northwood

This review is for the Online Ordering only. This is one of the closest grocery stores to us unless we drive to Concord. My husband likes to pick up the groceries after work so we usually order online first. Half the time we get our order, 25%+ of the items are substituted or missing entirely. We often will get items that expire the day we get the order but according to Hannaford policy, they sell items up to the date they expire… really helpful if you are getting a big pack of chicken for multiple meals and it’s expiring the day you receive it 🙄

This has happened multiple times. If an item is no longer available, it shouldn’t be available to purchase. For our last order, my husband ordered brioche buns. We received a small pack of vegan brioche buns (6 buns total) for over $6…

I know you receive an email from Hannaford about substitutions and such but unfortunately my husband never checks these.

While this is a decent store, it is not one of the better Hannafords. They don't have a service desk which basically keeps you wandering from clerk to clerk if you have a question. Their website advertises that they sell money orders, like most stores in this chain do, but the Northwood store does not! This needs to be updated. My biggest disappointment is with their advertised delivery services. It does NOT exist at this Northwood location. While placing an order is much more time consuming than you would think ( unless you want to give them free reign to substitute whatever) please don't waste your time. I placed an order at 10:30 a.m which was scheduled for delivery at 11, then between 1 and 2, then between 3-4, until finally being scheduled for 5 p.m. When the order still hadn't arrive at 5:45 p.m I contacted the delivery service who assured me they would get the next person on it ASAP. Are you kidding??? At that point I cancelled. Huge...

In an effort to save some money (near impossible at Hannaford's anyway) I opted to try their Hannaford brand dishwasher detergent and a Hannaford brand bleach spray cleaner. This dishwasher detergent is SO thin that it runs tight out of the compartment in the dishwasher and your spray cleaner sprayer sprays bleach all over the place, except where you are aiming - because it is garbage. Could you please at least make an attempt to provide your overcharged customers with usable Hannaford brand stuff? Your prices are outrageous and the quality of your Hannaford brand merchandise is terrible. You have officially lost a customer forever. Also how do you get off charging 10.99 for the same sized container of willow tree chicken salad that I bought at Market Basket for $4.99 (yes, same size). You folks are crooks. I will wave at Hannafords every time I drive by on my way to Market Basket - it's worth the extra 15...
