I like that Information Technology is something that I am passionate in since a very young age ever since I first took my first computer apart with my uncle and put it back together with him ate the age of 5. Which is also the reason that I chose it as a career because I feel like your career should be something you love and something that your passionate about because what's the point to go to school for a career that you don't like and not passionate about. The IT Support Program compares with other educational offerings in the Milwaukee area by having affordable tuition and flexible class schedules also it has things that some colleges doesn't offer like support for the students whether it is for tutors or mental support, they are very great in making sure the students are okay and successful. I chose MATC IT Computer Program for numerous reasons but the most important reasons are that I did research for MATC and other colleges but it stood out the most for me because of the graduation percent rate, what programs it offers in the IT Computer Program, tuition cost, but most importantly the professors they are all so all-rounded and skilled to help you successfully graduate and you can contact them and tell them that you need help and they will help you in any way they can possibly. The program will help me reach my goals to become an IT professional by having me learn with hands-on material, simulations, and labs that teaches me everything that I need to know to be successful in the IT Support Specialist field. Aspects of the IT Computer Support program that I particularly like are the hands-on material, the simulations, and labs that helps me be successful because it helps me to remember the material better and easier by making it fun while practicing it and I feel that candidates should know that learning in the IT field will give you everything you need to know to be successful in the Information Technology field. The important accommodations and specific features that the campus have that I appreciate is that you can borrow computers, you can get help with food, money, school supplies, anything that you need to be successful but they also have resources and professors that also help you to be successful like work studies where you can get tutoring and one-on-one sessions when you don't fully get the material you are learning; which I also thing other candidates will benefit from also. I would like to share that even when school is getting stressful especially with exams, midterms, whatever the problem maybe they have events you can join that will help you relax like they have an R&R even where you can play relaxing games and meditate; rest and just focus on what you need to relax and not be so stressed with school. I would also like to say I chose the best school for me and also the best instructors that take the time out to know you and to help you be successful and I hope other future students can do the...
Read moreWent there for about a year, the advisors are absolutely useless. Was told by one that I had to take a reading class because my score was low on the acuplacer test. Not a problem so I signed up for it and bought the books and everything. Went back to ask some other questions and saw a different advisor and was told "well, you're 1 point off on your acuplacer and there's other students who need that spot more than you so I'm just going to pass you through." I asked about 4 times that it was ok if I took my books back and got my money back to buy books for another class. I was told yes. I went back again for something and the advisor I saw the 1st time asked what I was doing in the class I signed up for and that I needed this other class, which I was signed up for in the first place and took the books back. I told her what I was told and that I was just going to get passed through. She told me that it was between me and the other advisor and she couldn't do anything. So I ended up having to return the books for this other English class and had to get the books I had in the beginning. That was a waste of about 6 hours in total. If you're all advisors, shouldn't you have the same procedures? Very unprofessional and tell everyone I know to go to a different school instead. No this was not for IT, but an absolute...
Read moreI selected the IT Support Specialist program because I had always been into hardware and software troubleshooting since I was young and it seemed like the proper way to go career wise. IT is a growing field and has no signs of slowing down. Along with that jobs are opening rapidly and there is a constant need to learn as new technology emerges. As an online student I feel some of classes could offer more and some of the assignments are kind of dated or out of touch for current day applications but it does help get you on the right track if nothing else. Some classes are definitely better to have in a physical classroom and some others vice versa. I wish MATC would open all the classes within the program to online students. Every semester seems to be a luck of the draw as far as whats available online as opposed to in person. As a busy student between school, life, and work, I sometimes find it hard to set a chunk of time multiple times a week for physical classes and would do much better if everything needed was offered simultaneously online. that aside, the Oak Creek campus is great. It is very easy to navigate and most of the instructors are friendly and easy to get along with, not to mention more than willing to...
