Ordered a gas range, agreed on delivery date this week. They didnt deliver, didnt call , didnt do nothin'. They didnt have the courtesy to notify us.
I went to the store, photographed the invoice with delivery date written in. Said the appliance wasnt in, theyd call to see when. I told them Id cancel the order if they couldnt guarantee delivery this week. They called back, said no idea when it would come in. Cancelled the transaction.
THERES A FRAUDULENT GAME going on in East Tennesee. Its not the traditional "bait and switch"- its a twist on it that I call "bait and DUMP."
Its not just an incident like this, its retail-industry wide. Ive not seen it in any of the other 5 States Ive done business in. It took us getting burned a couple times before I figured it out.
(Ive been in the consumer appliance and electronics business for 15 years and know consumer protection laws...I ownhed and ran a small consumer repair shop.)
The game here in TN is to hide behind the TN law that allows Consumers a 3 day period in which to cancel a transaction.
When the item is not in stock, (and in this case they both KNEW it wasnt, and KNEW it wasn't available....) they wait till the 3 day period expires, then to hell with you. They won't notify you, DONT CARE IF YOU EVER COME BACK, THEY GOT THE MONEY.
We got burned hard by La-Z Boy in Knoxville when they baited us , got caught lying about delivery then screwed us out of 1200 in furniture. We foolishly paid by check.
When its credit card, the buyer is in charge....

We purchased a kitchen aid. Nice unit. A week later it arrived damaged. The delivery guys told me I had to wait another week for delivery. I accepted a week out but tried to call the store several times to no avail. I drove over to the oak ridge store where we made the purchase. Funny there were no other customers and two sales people the phone message stated they were busy. I Do not think so. Regardless I gave them my situation and they told me I could get one day sooner. And be put on a list in case of cancelations. I have groceries that will go bad for recipes we had ordered thinking we e would have a useable stove to cook with. Now we have to find other methods. Read moreI bought an Amana washer brand new in April of 2021. Have had nothing but problems with it. They sent some clown to my house to fix it. He said it was fixed. IT WAS NOT FIXED. I called and told them it wasn't fixed. They said nothing they can do no warranty. Said for $95 they would send another clown to look at it. That was 2 weeks ago. They have not called me and no one has been to look at this piece of junk. I took it apart myself. It had 2 serial number stickers on it one on top of the other with 2 different serial numbers and 2 different manufacture dates. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT BUY FROM Patterson's appliances. I never will again. I Don't want to discuss anything with you other than you coming to take this piece of junk out...
