The real Hanging Valley Viewpoint is located directly across the Merced River on Northside Drive and includes signage explaining the glacial feature above Bridalveil Fall.

That said, this meadow still offers stunning views of the Hanging Valley, as well as El Capitan towering above the Merced River, Bridalveil Fall, the Leaning Tower, and Cathedral Rocks. The area is dotted with beautiful dogwood trees in the spring, and the winding paths through the meadow provide quiet, scenic spots that feel far from the crowds.

I’ve been visiting this spot for decades, and it never disappoints. There’s parking along the road and a shuttle stop nearby, making it easily accessible no matter how you're getting around Yosemite Valley.
