Discovery Seashell Museum — Local services in Ocean City

2024 EDIT: Not sure what happened...but this place has definitely lost a step. Might have just gone on an "off" day, but it seems to have lost a lot of the charm. Sad to see it go this way... Most of the gems of the collection have now either been sold off or removed from display. The love is gone... Went to this museum and was amazed. Such a cool gem of a place. The love and passion that went into this collection is very much on display and apparant in every nook and cranny. There is a little bit of everything - and a lot of it is for sale. There is something here for everyone; shells, animals, gems, minerals, sports memorabilia...you name it! My family and I were delighted and enjoyed hearing the tales from the curator's great grandson. Yes, this is family run. I implore you, please visit, buy something and keep this place going. Awesome little "mom and pop" store. Pleanty of unique shells and things on display from all around the world. It everything had labels and it looked like just about everything was for sale. There's a small outdoor area where you'll find a giant shark jaw and tons of mini shells to buy. Very cool place! The man working at the front counter (i assume hes the owner) had his pup there. An adorable wrinkley faced english bulldog with the best under bite smile. He's the cutest most friendly customer service representative you'll ever meet! This place is the definition of a perfect beach store. They have everything ranging from hermit crabs to awesome decor for the house. It's not only for parents but also a great place for the kids to look around. The owener is so unbelievably kind and is so warming. My friend and I have come every single day this week, the real reason we wake up is to come here ... Right when you walk in you are greated with the warmest smiles. Highly recommended!!
