Iâve struggled with Eczema my whole life from scratching my skin raw as an infant to flair ups as an adult. Itâs more than just dry skin like some people seem to think.
Anyhow my PCP Dr. Brian Kim over at Scripps Coastal Carlsbad was unable to properly treat or even identify my trigger or properly medicate it. He gave me a referral to Dermatologist Medical Group of North County which at the time seemed like it was the bees nees. Well after my last 2 flair ups I was referred to Dermatology Specialists Dr. Bradshaw and he is the 1st and only Doctor to properly diagnose and treat me, within seconds he knew more about it than multiple previous doctors spent hours poking and proding. My childhood eczema is no longer an issue, but I now have Dishydrotic Eczema which is treated completely differently.
My experience here is vastly different than most and what I thought was good service before with other Dermatologists at other groups turned out to be a shame. Had I been diagnosed correctly all those years ago my life would be much less stressful. Yes my update on previous will be pending.
The office is very nice and comforting. Plenty of seating, quiet and the front desk staff is very friendly, even at 7:30am (yes early appointments if needed). My doctor works 3 of the North County offices so my first referral here took a few weeks to get, but after that on my 2nd flair up only took a week. Not too bad.
I was both early and late on my visits without issue. I was able to be seen, scraped, biopsied and out the door in less than an hour each time. Co-pay for both PPO and HMO insurance was a breeze (yes I changed methods because my PCP is really easy at giving referrals)
The rooms and hallways are nice as are the tools they use, the latest technology. He even was kind enough to work out a mail prescription to save me money, which for the proper treatment is not even an issue. I canât speak to any other Doctors here, but my experiences here have been impeccable.
My family is medically inclined (mom RN, dad corpsman, sister doctor, aunt RN, cousin doctor, aunt PA). So our family dinners often turn to medicine. I let me knowledge speak for itself and being a businessman and Accountant I find it easy to navigate the medical world, which I know can be difficult for some. Sounds like many of the other Doctors need to get on Dr....
Read moreI never write reviews because when things are bad I try to give the office the benefit of the doubt. But after two bad experiences I felt like I needed to write a review to save someone else in the future from a bad experience. I went to this office for the first time last year. After waiting for 45 minutes in the waiting room I went to check with the front desk how much longer it would be. Then I found out they forgot to put my paperwork on the shelf so the nurse knew to take me back. Now flash forward to this year. I had an accident where I got stitches on my face. I really wanted to get into the doctor so I could get something to minimize scaring. I was told the soonest they could get me in was three months later. I asked to be on a wait list hoping I could get in sooner. After a month I called and said I still hadnât heard back for any cancellations. They said there are other people ahead of you on the wait list. I let them know my toddler had three little moles I wanted to get looked at and could he be seen when I came in. They said no Iâd have to make a separate appointment again months later. I said it will literally take less than two minutes to look at couldnât he look at the same time I went in? I didnât mind paying for an office visit for both of us I just wanted to do it while I was there. She said it was up to the doctor I could ask when I got there but she would make him an account so they could bill for it. I went for my appointment today and again after waiting 45 minutes the doctor came in. He didnât apologize for the wait or ask why I had come in. He quickly looked me over and when I mentioned my now healed stitches seemed to just brush it off like itâs healed now nothing he could do. I asked if he could look at my son really quick and he said I could make an appointment three months later. He probably noticed the shock on my face and said maybe he could squeeze us in next week. Do not waste your time going to this office. They clearly donât care about patients time, or have good bed side manner or...
Read moreI had several negative experiences while a patient at this Oceanside practice. I had a couple minor procedures done here. During the first procedure, the medical assistant who appeared to be in training, got lidocaine in my eye, resulting in discomfort and a very enlarged pupil for hours. I did notify the office. During another visit, a different medical assistant who appeared to be in training, was continually coughing while taking before photos of my face. Sounded like a bad cough and she had no mask on. The day after my encounter with her, I began to feel bad and came down with the flu. I did not complain but had sensed based on my observations, that the physician I was seeing there, was also frustrated with the office staff. That physician has since left the practice and I'm not surprised. I recently received two unexpected bills for what I believed were follow up visits included in the big payment I had already made. I called the office on 8/26/25, and was told that someone from the office would be returning my call about them. Over two weeks later I called the office after not hearing back. I was told someone would call me later that day, but no one did. I called and talked to the billing office twice this week and the office practice on a third call. I confirmed that the office manager was in and that my messages had been forwarded to her. When I didn't hear back, I called back yesterday. I was transferred to what was supposed to be the office manager's voicemail and got a message that the inbox could not be found. I left a message on the patient question line for the manager to call me. Since she did not, I am posting this review in hopes that whoever is overseeing this office/practice will do a better job with employee training and handling return calls...
