Woodson Park Aquatic Center — Local services in Odessa

I've been going to Woodson for 6 years with my 2 grandchildren. I was a Red Cross certified lifeguard until age 52. I refused to take them to Midland water parks due to inattentive guards on duty and open shenanigans "off duty." I found Woodson to be more professional and no nonsense. Under the new YMCA management, I'll wait and see, but today's experience was dangerous. Too many whistles, too much running, cannonballs permitted from all entries to each section, congregating in the Lazy River and altogether too much "horseplay." Only 3 cause i actualy did not to go in and enjoy Gods precious water, amen... see i work nights, and i planned it out so i can go get wet, even if family is not here. So, i show up, get the lotion on my beak , im all ready , i decide to see exactly when they open cause it looks abandoned......... yestrday was last day lol! Jack arsce! However there are alot of rules posted on the front(cringe) and it looks amazing and fun from the outside..... meh ! Ill come back next year...

The swimming pools are very good ( Sherwood/ Woodson) Just need to charge someone to clean the bathroom/restroom regulary during the day,ost of the toilets 🚽 are dirty, people don’t flush it, toilet paper 🧻.
