The thrift store used to have great prices but now it was reminiscent of Goodwill prices. Tons of stuff, like, TONS, but like everything else, prices went up.

edit Well, yes, I do think 3 stars is fair, as 4 stars would indicate a higher level of satisfaction, and 5 stars is pretty much reserved for the best of the best. So I'd say 3 stars was generous, regardless of the state of the economy we live in. Keeping that exact thing in mind, thrift stores historically have been a great outlet for people who may not be in a position to buy full-priced items in a big box store. If you're already struggling, it's a real letdown to go somewhere that should be a resource only to find that it too is now out of your price range. If I'm not mistaken, items are donated. Outside of your operating overhead, I don't see how inflation has anything to do with pricing? I'd say it's more accurate to blame pickers and/or resellers for price hikes, in which case, why make the people who truly need the outlet suffer? Sell more at a lesser price. Any way you slice it, you're selling inventory without isolating the people who need the low prices. Do you really think a single mom with 3 kids can pay $15.00 for a pair of shoes for each kid on a budget? No. She can not. $3-$5 a pair, that is manageable. We do not have retail rebel where we live. But every time we’re in the Kansas City area, we try to hit as many as possible as the bars that you can pick up can be astronomical or sometimes nothing at all. This week we picked up $200 worth of Woodworking supplies for $2.40. We picked up $89 quilting supplies for $2.40 in total was spent $48 and a full retail. It was nearly $900 in value.
