A couple years back I had needed some service work for a sailboat which I was working on. A friend suggested True North, who I hired. The project included some re-wiring instrumentation, other electrical repairs and trouble shooting AIS. True North’s team handled everything smoothly, timely and we went off to successfully compete in the Newport to Bermuda Race.

As a result of that project, last year I hired True North for an extensive electronics upgrade project on an early 2000’s 43’ Tiara express. The project included adding the newest, state of the art instrumentation, vessel bilge/ power and location monitoring, multiple large displays, new custom dash board bezel, new lighting throughout including high powered spot lights and underwater lights as well as the addition of an incredible sound system. The whole boat needed to be torn apart. Needless to say, the time line was met, the project stayed on budget and we had a great summer with the boat. One additional point about the True North team, the project did not happen overnight. Mike and his team did a complete new boat install on our Grady 33 2yrs ago and the work was done on time and budget, with better than factory results. Space available for twin Garmin 16’s was tight but no problem for True North. This yr we added Sionynx night vision, AIS, and upgraded all stereo speakers. Same amazing results. Job completed on time and, something a lot of installers don’t deliver, was the level of communication with Mike throughout the process. True North Marine Electronics are true pros. I’ve used them twice for my 27 ft. center console. First to install a Garmin Fantom radar dome. Installation was very neat and tidy and the guys gave me helpful operating tips. Mike came back aboard a couple weeks later to help precisely align the radar. Being happy with that job I engaged them again recently to put in a second Garmin multi-function display and a high wide Airmar transducer.
