Decided to stop in right when they opened for a quick set of appetizers and a snack with a friend. Service and atmosphere were excellent, food was mediocre. Drink was good, but they had no drink menu when asked which is unusual. Calamari sauce was very bland for the name "firecracker". Asian tuna nachos were the opposite and too heavy on the wasabi. Oysters came with 1 fork and no spoon for the mignonette which also tasted off. Based on reviews from friends I was pretty disappointed especially for the price point, but I will probably try again for dinner service once the kitchen is more settled. Would not reorder anything I had.

Arriving into Old Saybrook we were told to check this restaurant out. We are glad we did . Exceptional service and amazing food. The baby back ribs are to die for. The cheese cake was super and a big portion. We definitely recommend this place. If the weather is nice, it outside! It very relaxing!

Another great restaurant/bar in the area. I highly suggest the firecracker calamari. It was cooked perfectly. Extremely friendly and attentive bartender. They do close at 9pm though because it is a residential neighborhood. Beautiful interior and a nice outside terrace. You won't be disappointed.

We unexpectedly stopped for two nights in Old Saybrook, CT, and had dinner at Otter Cove last night as it was across the street from our hotel and pretty much the only option for us to walk to. And it couldn’t have been a better option. The milieu inside was what should be expected and hoped for in a coastal town like this. If I lived in the area, the wait staff would bore of me quickly.

The help is super friendly, on point, and on the way out we got a chance to meet the owner by the door (nice move, respect) and pepper him with some questions and he’s exactly what I like to see in an owner of such an establishment – and that’s all good things; very friendly, informative, and gracious for the patronage. I’d probably still come back to this place if I didn’t like their food and still drank alcohol. But I did. We all did. They have an upstairs for: receptions, parties, get togethers, etc. I’m a sucker for places like this.

We’re in town for one more night and will be going back one more time. And if we/I ever come back to this area in the future, we will be going back. I’m a sucker for places like this.

If I were 22 again, and full of hope, I’d be at the end of the bar cradling a Beat book, sitting arrogantly and being consistently right to all around, and nursing three fingers of Chivas Regal – yet still not aware of the things that would lead me back here. (Have I been here before?) They would bore of me quickly. Ordered: Lisa’s Rigatoni (great call – spaghetti is old news) and Meatballs, Asian Tuna Nachos, and a hot dog and fries for the pip squeak....

I am not happy. Yesterday my wife took me here to celebrate a special birthday. They of course were told. Tuesday their website and menus says is steak special night . When I gave my order the t-bone in the photo was not avaible , so I ordered the only other steak, the twin filet. We waited 45 minutes, during which for some reason we sat with our empty soup bowls and other things that needed clearing. Finally I was told they ran out of steak. When asked why they didn't know that 45 minutes earlier, I was told they never got steak from their suppliers due to the shortage (which is over). With no valid explanation I was told order anything for dinner on the menu and I would be comped. While I lost my appetite, I got a fish that was fine. The shocker..they charged me full price and it was more than the steak! I did get my birthday piece of cake free as most places do. If they don't have steak on steak night, change your web page, tell your servers and don't wait to tell the customer for 45 minutes and then charge him when you said...

The staff and management of this restaurant are completely rude! I went to an eagle watching event that included soup and sandwich at Otter Creek. Since I have gluten allergies, I called before booking the trip to see if I could have a salad. I was told yes. When I got to the restaurant, I was only offered chicken Caesar salad which I didn't want. The waitress was very rude and finally told me I could have lettuce, tomatoes cucumbers and some chicken. I was served last, obviously on purpose. When I called two days later to complain about the rude waitress, the manager was really disrespectful to me and defended the waitress!! I couldn't believe this. My advice: stay away from this restaurant. There's lots of other places that'll treat you much nicer. People with food allergies should be taken seriously. This place obviously thinks you're...
