Woudstra Meat Market — Local services in Orange City

My wife and I drive from an hour away every month or so to stock up. I’ve got a background in meat processing and butchering, so it’s a pleasure to patronize someone at the top of their craft. What I appreciate the most about Woudstra’s is that they carry a fantastic selection of old world sausages and other processed meats. It’s hard to find a good metwurst in the states. Also, they have saucijsjes and other Dutch treats, like hagelslag! And as I recall, I’ve seen krokets too. Now if I could just find some bamischijf, it would be like I never left Noord Brabant! My family and I were in town visiting from Minneapolis and stopped in for our traditional favorites. We have people in Sioux Center and many of us were raised nearby so this wasn't our first visit, but it was the first time we were invited to take a sneak peek into the hard work that goes on behind the counter. I grew up in this area and always take time to visit Woudstra's when I come home. They have fantastic paper-thin dried beef at a quality that I cannot find anywhere at home.
