It’s the 4th of July, and I sent husband and son with a lengthy grocery list to the Piggly. They didn’t realize until we were putting groceries away that they left a bag at the store. I called. They said, “We have it. Sure, come get it.” By the time I arrived to the Oriental Piggly Wiggly, the groceries had been unrefrigerated for 45 minutes. The employee who reunited me and my groceries declared that the dairy and meats should be replaced. She immediately set off to find the perishable items herself, “I’ll do it. I have visited this Piggly a few times as we have visited a new vacation property we have. I have been impressed each time with how clean the store is, their produce department, how nearly the shelves are stocked and how friendly the staff is. If you want alcohol they have a pretty good selection of wine, beer and ales. Some are refrigerated as well. Given how close they are to the coast they have fresh seafood options.
