My husband and I decided to go for the Valentines Couples dinner they had advised on their Facebook page. Prime Rib dinner with baked potatoes, asparagus, dessert and a bottle of wine. We even called and set reservations. When we got there for our dinner reservations there was no hostess, so pretty much seat yourself. We found out from another customer not a staff member. When we set down the waitress was like yeah we ran out right after we opened. Did you buy 1 prime rib? Who advises prime rib special and not prepare for enough to last. I understand running out but, it's not that big of a restaurant. So, you ran out an hour after you opened. Then she stated they were told they were not suppose to take any reservations for Valentines day. Should have left at that point but we stayed. Tried to make the best of it. The hubs ordered the sirloin dinner, I had a lobster shrimp linguini with a cream sauce, we also added parmesan bread bites for an appetizer. We never received the appetizer, his steak no had absolutely no flavor. None, no beef flavor, no seasoning no nothing. Same with his greenbeans and over cooked fries. Which when we order she never asked what sides he wanted. We had to call her back to the table to tell her. My pasta dish was extreme odd, I've never had a "lobster bisque" used for a sauce especially if it's not advertised as a soup on the menu. And I LOVE lobster bisque!!! This tasted more powdery then anything. I feel like the whole thing was a bait and switch to pull people in. I have been looking fowarded to trying this establishment out for a while and unfortunately, it was a huge let down. The concept of silos turned into a restaurant is so interesting but the menu theme does not match. Who hears "The Silos" and thinks Italian. I think of good home style country style food maybe kicked up just a notch but never would I think Italian cuisine. Sorry, we will not be dining at this...
Read moreThe restaurant is very cool! Made out of 2 silos. It is not obvious where you are supposed to go for the restaurant. Downstairs is just for ordering to go and where they receive take out orders by phone. We stood and waited while an order was taken to be told to go upstairs. The decor has a cabin feel and is very interesting. The music was a little loud for table conversation.
A young lady initially brought our menus and drinks. She was very friendly and helpful. Our orders were taken by another waitress and she was not. She bordered on being rude. My husband described her behavior as snarky. She was very impatient with our questions about the specials. She also criticized the younger waitress which I found unprofessional.
The food was ok. I had their special which was bourbon Street pasta with blackened shrimp, chicken and sausage. I ordered it with just shrimp. It was served with linguine and had a lot of a light orange, cream sauce. It was a basic cream sauce with a very little bit of spicy flavor. I expected something with more of a unique flavor since it had the word bourbon in it. The shrimp was also not actually blackened. Some of the seasoning was just added to the sauce.
My husband had their veggie pizza. It was pretty good pizza but the crust was not crusty at all so the whole pizza had to be eaten with a fork and knife because of how floppy the. Rust was.
The best thing about the meal was the side salad. The salad was very fresh and well balanced with toppings.
I am willing to give it another try because so many people like it. My first experience wasn't anything to write home...
Read moreI went to this establishment for the first time and my last. You go upstairs in this establishment for dining. There was a concert in the back of the restaurant MILLARDS CLASSIC MOWTOWN SOUNDS. I asked the waitress brittany if we could order our food and have it delivered to the concert in the back? She replied no! So the party I was with ended eating in the dining facility. I ordered lemonade, hot wings and a stromboli. The lemonade was very bitter and not sweet so I sent it back. I ordered a sweat tea which was really good. I wanted a refill . The waitress picked up 2 sweet teas at the table where I was seated. Then she grabs a 3rd glass from a different table. We all had lemon and straws in our glasses. So you know I didn't drink anymore tea; being that she could not remember whose glass she had ! The wings arrived roon temperature. My stromboli arrived with the waitress holding a platter with a Mitt. I was glad to know that I had a hot with the cheese melting and stringy as I cut into it. But that didn't happen. I could pick it up with my hand. The platter was not hit and neither was the stromboli. We asked for take out trays. She bought them to us. We wanted bags to put the trays in however we would have to go downstairs just to get a bag! Anyways we get to the concert where MILLARDS classic is playing. We stayed for 3 hours and seen people ordering their food from the silo. And waitresses were...
