First, the on site host Phil and Pat are excellent hosts. They are extremely friendly and helpful in anyway they can help. However, this place is overpriced and the owners seem money hungry. Fail to mention their policy on notifying them (a week in advance mind you) on being a couple days late coming in. They charged us for 3 days of NOT being there. Yet they had plenty of notice and could have (and probably did) book that spot those 3 days. Knocked on my door 3 days before the next monthly rent was due and told me I had to pay a today or I had to leave! I totally get it if I hadnt given them notice that I would be 3 days late coming in but that wasn't the case. I ended up leaving! 3 days early mind you! As I Wasn't about to hand them $650 dollars early and completely caught off guard. Totally not okay!
The first and ONLY month we were there it was $600 NOT including electric (which they don't provide any paperwork/legit meter readings to prove what you're supposed to pay electric wise). Oh and $650 + electric in January (which I was told about last minute as I was paying my non refundable deposit but was never mentioned before during the other emails and calls when price inquiring).
Upon leaving was told that a single occupant that was barely ever home running on 30amps (not 50amps because surprise, they didn't have a 50amp plug in) in mid-November to Mid- December used $100 in electric! My apartment in Daytona Beach didn't even equal that during this time of the year!! Yet didnt provide any proof! $100 for electric usage for a 240 sq ft rv! In weather that didnt require the a/c or heat other than a handful of days that whole month! Talk about a ripoff! Plus on top of that the breaker would trip often and you had to get the onsite host to get the power back on. The plug in pole was very flimsy (would move back and forth badly when you go to plug in) and looked very unsafe! I work a couple of hours very early mornings from home and it tripping caused me to miss several classes (i teach english online), lose money (actual deduction) and negatively affect my contract all because the breaker tripped and its not where you plug in so you cannot flip it yourself.
You are packed in there like sardines, we had to back a 40 footer into the very back of the park from the busy main road! Our back window was literally 2 ft from a mobile home and also about 10 ft from the hourly train that went by. Our one side was about 5 ft from another house. Parked on a sandy spot and had a HUGE ant infestation that no matter what i did couldnt get rid of. Never have had this issue anywhere else. Guessing the sand pit we were parked on was ant infested and they obviously don't spray for bugs. Very glad we left and did not pay them $750 (or more) for the month of January. There are plenty of other rv parks with tons of ammenities and pools for that price or less. We greatly enjoyed our time at International RV park in Daytona, they just didnt have any winter spots for us but $575 a month (including electric) there is a HUGE difference. Hate leaving bad reviews but hope it will save someone else the headache or help the owners improve...
Read moreIf I could give this place a no star I would. What I have to say about this place is not worth my time but I am going to take a few minutes to let you know that this place is a total rip off. First off as others on here have said you dont get to see the numbers of the meter readings so when they come at you with the electric bill you have no idea what it is.I stayed 3 months and the place was filthy when I moved in and I said to Phil this place is dirty and his response was well my wife couldnt do it all. I stayed because I had signed up and they had a 500 dollar deposit. Plus I gave them 200 in electric deposit and clean place when I left.I also told them the 1st of March when I paid my rent that I would be leaving on the 27th and that I would want my deposits back at that time because I have stayed at places that say we will send it and you never see it. i also told the owners when they were there for bike week when I was leaving and would want my deposit and they said it would be no problem. Well when I had got packed and told Phil he could read the meter he did and then he says I owe 190 for the month. Mind you the Feb. bill was 36 dollars, I used nothing but the microwave and refrigerator plus TV and computer.I had to tell him I was going to call the BBB and the health departments. He finally brought me 100 dollars and said they would send the rest, I will not hold my breath waiting. Phil told me when I moved in he was trying to get the owners to bulldoze the building. And to top it off I was paying 913 a month. Also during the heavy season if there was a medical problem it would be hard to get medical equipment in there and also the cabin I was in only had 1 door so if there was a fire you would not get out, plus some of the light sockets had no covers. As I said before total ripoff.I was in cabin 115. We will see how long they let this stay...
Read moreI cannot say enough kind words for both Pat and Phil at harris RV Park. They are an extremely hard working couple always going the extra mile to make your stay as pleasant as possible while constantly working to update and beautify the grounds. The grounds were lean and each spot offers WIFI, full hookups with city water, and cable. Their laundry facilities are extremely clean with a nice library where you can sit and read while waiting for your laundry to finish. We had a breakdown on the way to Ormond Beach and Harris RV and Pat held our reservation until we could arrive. We had planned to stay only 6 weeks while our new home was getting completed by the builder but delays forced us to stay longer for which Pat was completely understanding and extended our stay through the 4th of July. If you're looking for concrete pads rather than grass or gravel, they have it. We stayed in a 40 RV plus tow and an extra vehicle. Now if it's amenities you want like pools or media rooms, this is not the place for you but heck, you came to Ormond Beach to enjoy the natural beauty. The beach is 10 min away, fishing galore all around, wonderful restaurants in downtown Ormond, Flagler, or Daytona. This list is endless. Don't hesitate to spend a few nights at Harris RV while you explore the area, you'll...
