Came in to rent a vacuum to clean one of my rental properties. I was immediately asked by the abrasive woman at the register âif I live in the area? if I have a valid drivers license? and a credit card that matches the address on my drivers licenseâ I told her âyes, but I donât plan to use that method of paymentâ the only physical card I had with me and the card I planned to pay with was the card for my business which doesnât match my drivers license address. I didnât have my personal âphysicalâ debit card with me and I was told I couldnât pay with that card either using Apple Pay because they had to have a physical card matching your home address (even though they offer Apple Pay and you have to pay up front) I asked if I could pay with cash instead, and the answer was no. So Even though they have a credit card number to place on holdâŚit doesnât matter.. it has to match your drivers license exactly and you have to live in the area. Thank goodness I live near my rental property lol. That wasnât an issue for me but I could see how it could be an issue for some property owners. Total cluster.
Long story short, if you plan to rent a vacuum at this ace hardware you can only pay with a physical credit card in your name matching your address. No other method of payment is accepted. The reason given was that I could have gotten away with a $600 vacuum. đđđ. If they want to report it stolen, they have my driverâs license. Why does it matter how I pay for it as long as I return it? Not good business practice for any customers who own a Business and want to pay with a business credit card or any customer who would rather pay in cash and not the card placed on hold.
And yes there is a rude woman...
Read moreHad to exchange some Co² canisters for my Sodastream. I had been using the Ace Granada Blvd (SR 40) for years, but I wanted to experience the new Ace North Ormond on US1, and boy, was I amazed. As soon as I entered, I was greeted with a smile and how can we help you by a young man at the registered. It's been a while since I was greeted with such enthusiasm. I explained about my exchanges, figuring he would point where I needed to go get them. Instead, before I could say any more, he had them in his hands and on the counter for me. I was sincerely grateful for how I was treated. I have been doing business with both the South Ormond store and Madden's Ace. I guess you get used to the every day walk in, not greeted with a smile, and have to chase someone down to help. This again was a game changer for me, and I have found a new Ace hardware. IT'S GREAT TO SEE PEOPLE TODAY WITH SUCH STATUE ABOUT HELPING OTHERS....

I visited Ormond Ace Hardware at 333âŻW Granada Blvd, and I was really impressed. The store offers a wide selectionâfrom tools, plumbing, paint, outdoor living items, to key cutting and propane exchange. Steve at the paint counter was exceptionally helpful and friendly, ready to answer questions and guide me to exactly what I needed.
I also appreciated their services like paint color matching, in-store locksmith, and theyâll even special-order items not in stock ďżź. The store atmosphere felt clean, organized, and community-focused. Bonus points for the convenient hours (7:30âŻAMâ7:00âŻPM MonâSat, 9âŻAMâ5âŻPM Sun) ďżź.
Overall, I highly recommend this Ace locationâitâs the ideal âHelpful Placeâ for anyone needing parts, tools, advice, or just a great...
