Made a big rookie mistake yesterday. 8 people were on our boat, 6 on another boat. We all decided to go to High Tide bc some people had not been there. They wanted to check it out. I've never had any major issues with the place in the past, just hear lots of bad stuff. My boat of 8 go first. So we get there not knowing when the other group of 6 is going to make it, ordered 3 apps, and one round of drinks. They were not even very busy. They only had 18 orders in. (The server told us) Our server was MJ and she was absolutely sweet. Very nice and kind. I went to the bar, ordered 10 green tea shots, as some friends came in and we hadn't seen each other this year on the lake yet. At a little over 1 hour into being there, I asked MJ about the food. She apologized and said she would check on it, and told me they have 18 tickets. So, it's been over an hour. She doesn't come back, I waited for approx 15 min and went to ask the two managers standing by the bar. I was polite, they didn't even ask which tableI was referring to, at first. They just got really defensive and said they were packed. I explained that there's at least 33 empty tables (my niece counted. Lol) We believe the managers were drunk! It was unbelievable how rude they were. They immediately said I came cursing at them, which was a complete lie!! I've never cursed at a hospitality worker, as I worked for Marriott for years! He accused me of lying as well! Seriously deranged. As I am speaking to the manager, they were so rude and awful and started yelling at me for asking about our food, my son heard it and came and said let's go. Cancel our order, we are done here. The other boat of 6 came in, they couldn't believe we were still waiting on food as they had put their boat up and it had been 2 hours since we left party cove. They texted later to say there was other issues with other people, and it took over an hour to get their food as well. High Tide is not the only place at the lake to eat. I will drive to Casey's before I EVER step foot into that place! The management is going to be the reason that place fails, and as a business owner, you can tell by the way a company treats their employees whether you want to do business with them. This place needs to clean house and get decent managers with some hospitality training. It's not a good look. I've read most of the comments on the other post and I can clearly see that High Tide owners don't care. I am not the first person to have these issues. It looks like most people have had a bad experience there. That really sucks bc there is so much potential and it was a decent place with decent food after a day on the lake. We went to Sunnyside and had a great meal. It will always be my first stop now. They were lovely. This isn't a post for Sunnyside by any means, however if you have issues with High Tide, just know that there's other places to go that are delicious...
Read moreoverall the pool bar was nice - the drinks we're good, prices were on par for the rest of the lake.
we were there on the saturday of labor day weekend - drinking all day. service was slow - the bartender under the bar directly under the stage was taking shots behind the bar all day and i don't think he was allowed to because he kept pouring them into plastic cups and turning his back away from his manager. at one point, he drank 4 shots during the time i was waiting for one drink.
when it came time to get my tab, he handed me a tab that was twice as much as it should've been with random assorted drinks on it - i was drinking high noons all day, i couldn't tell you how many high noons i had drank but i know i didn't have shots or busch lights or random mixed drinks that day and none of my friends were on my tabs as we all had our own tabs
when i told the bartender that these weren't my drinks his response was "i'd love to believe you but you've been drinking all day" - at this point i had asked for the manager because i'm not going to pay $80 extra for drinks i didn't drink - the manager was great and he fixed my tab but it left a bad taste in my mouth that they told me they couldn't believe me because i was drinking, especially when i had watched them drink all day.
drinks are fine, dj was great - service and...
Read moreMy recent experience at High Tide wasn’t anything special. I experienced rude bartenders, expensive prices, but a good atmosphere. I can give it to them that they have to make money somehow, but there are other poolside bars at the Ozarks that have cheaper prices than High Tide.
Be sure to look correctly at your tab when closing out. I was handed a different girls tab and almost signed for her, luckily I looked at the name before I signed! Also be sure to check your bank account the next day to be sure you get your correct amount charged to your card. If you have any issues good luck calling the place because they won’t get back to you if you...
