I hate to be the one to do this and I usually don’t but the nightmares just keep playing in my head. I got engaged Sunday July 22nd and due to my ring not being sized ahead of my, my fiancé and I took my ring to Rose the Monday after. My engagement ring is a 5k Leo Diamond 14k White Gold from Kay’s. Maybe it was against my better judgment to bring a ring like that to Rose but I felt confident in the previous reviews and I believe in community businesses. I took the ring in to get sized because I didn’t want to wait the 2 weeks it takes to send it out from Kays.Don’t get me wrong the job was done in a very timely manner, we took the ring in at 1030am and it was ready by 2pm. First off the diamond inside the band from the “O” was missing from “Leo” and my finance had to go back and retrieve it from the place which is was found in “the cleaning site”. Secondly, the ring was no longer a perfect circle, but more of a football shape. Thirdly, over 50% of the band was no longer white gold, but more of a yellowish color from all the “white” or silver platting being removed. Fourthly the inside of the band had huge visible scratches. I was flabbergasted. I refused to let my fiancé take my ring back to question the issues after we paid the man 50$ for the “Fix”. We took the ring back to Kays and THANKFULLY they are sending it in to be fixed under our insurance and I am praying every day they can fix this ring. I have nightmares about it. The ring also has loose diamonds after it left Rose. My ring that was spotless when it went in and came out a complete mess. I’m not sure what other jewelry people are taking in but I would not suggest taking any expensive jewelry in for sizing or repairs. I am beyond...
Read moreJim Rose and his colleagues at Rose Jewelers deserve every 5 star rating they get, and much, much more. For the past 1.5 years I have carried a bit of guilt for not writing this review. Today I'll remedy that. I came into Jim's shop in search of an engagement ring in March 2023 with a full heart of love and absolutely zero knowledge of the searching and buying process. Jim took time out of his day to coach me up and provide honest advice/opinions before moving forward. Zero pressure, no sales angles, just him sharing his in-depth knowledge from years in the business. You can feel the genuine care the second you walk in the shop. From there we were able to workshop designs, turning vague ideas into tangible images within his design program. He searched for and ultimately acquired the exact cut of stone desired, built the most beautiful custom ring, and kept me in the loop every step of the way with prompt and transparent communication. I couldn't believe what I picked up once it was ready and immediately left his shop to ask for my now wife's hand in marriage. She was, somehow, even more thrilled with Jim's work that I was. We married a few weeks ago, and nearly everyday we look down at the ring that was made by the heads, hands, and hearts of Rose Jewelers. If you are seeking a business to patron, your search ought to...
Read moreI took my wedding ring in to have a stone re-set. So I was quoted one rate and when I came to pick it up, not only had the rate been doubled, but three of my smaller stones were missing!
Jim (the owner) rudely told me that my ring was so dirty that I just couldn't see that they were missing! Obviously if I brought the ring in for one stone that had fallen out, I would have seen the other stones were missing. I would not have gotten a ring with four stones missing repaired. I know for a fact that these smaller stones were intact when I dropped off the ring. I am seriously considering filing a police report against Jim and Rose Jewelers.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR JEWELRY TO THIS PLACE IF YOU CHERISH IT!
UPDATE
I see the owner decided to reply to my review 7 YEARS LATER!!!! I hardly ran out on anything except frustration, rudeness, and a mean old man. As you can see, Jim decided to reply to my post a mere seven years later. This late response from this business should indicate how the business is or is not run.
Funny how Jim SEEMS to remember so many intricate details seven years later, it's amazing actually. I assure you, I DID NOT run out on a $10 bill, and that is truly laughable.
You would think he would have had many small stones to replace mine with since there are a lot of people on here...
