Great Wall Express — Restaurant in Oshtemo Charter Township

Worst food ever! Do not recommend this place at all. This is our usual go to place for appetizers and orange chicken. I ordered chicken and broccoli tonight and my spouse the orange chicken. The chicken and broccoli was absolutely awful and smelled terrible. The chicken had to have been boiled, it was in some sort of gravy/broth instead of a brown sauce. Some of the veggies were practically raw, as in the color of certain veggies change as they cook. My spouse could tell my looking at it that the baby corn was raw, it was. The broccoli and mushrooms I would normally have picked out and eaten but they were covered in the slimy gravy, which also tasted terrible so even those weren’t edible. The order went straight into the trash. The only thing edible was the white steamed rice and the spring roll was ok. Orange chicken was okay but not fantastic. I’m visiting the Kalamazoo area and I wanted chinese food and this is how I came across Great Wall Express. I ordered the bourbon chicken and unfortunately my chicken was not cooked all of the way. I call them and asked for a refund and they told me to bring it back. I already drove out 30 minutes from the area and was at work so I could not make it back to the restaurant. I am not from here, I am visiting for work and will be leaving in the morning. The owner demanded that I leave my job and bring thr food back, even told me to uber and won’t cover the fees or to come back in the morning. I have a flight back to my hometown so I would not be able to do that because they open later than my flight. I personally do not think its okay to instantly think that every customer is lying about their food but I honestly don’t care that much to do that. My rating used to be five all over the board, but things have started going downhill and I haven't ordered in about 6 months (till today 3/11/2025) but the egg rolls taste like Christmas. Why is there nutmeg/cinnamon in an egg roll? The orange chicken has no more peppers in it, very disappointed. The flavor is gone. You used to have the best food.
