Salvaged Designs — Local services in Oskaloosa

I lost my aunt a couple of years ago to cancer. The last thing she ever gave me was the recipe to her spaghetti. It was one of the first things I made when I started getting into cooking, and always left defeated when I couldn’t it make it with the love and taste that she did. Jen over at Salvaged Designs found the best and most beautiful way to honor my aunt as she watches over me in the kitchen now. And while I’ll never be able to make her spaghetti I have this beautiful reminder of the love that will always exist.

Jen went above and beyond to bring this piece to life. I just provided the recipe, and she did the rest, and even framed it so beautifully. I’m forever grateful. I trust this woman with my LIFE. She asked me exactly how I wanted it and I told her to run with it (a great choice.) She is creative, brilliant, and most importantly she always leads with her heart. An amazing business woman, creator, mother, and all of the above. Truly.

If you want a way to honor your loved one — this is it. Thank you so much for your outlook on life and your beautiful way of making sure our loved ones are always close by.

We completely remodeled and furnished a downtown apartment for the purpose of renting out as an Airbnb. We wanted to give some personal and unique touches of Oskaloosa decor. I immediately thought of Jenn Maxwell and knew her creative touch was needed. We specifically wanted a large piece of wall art referencing the downtown bandstand that's across the street from our building. Within 2 weeks, she had an amazing custom piece finished for our apartment. She also made us a custom shelve/coat hook for the entry and a custom made sign to put outside of our apartment. All of the pieces are absolutely perfect for our apartment! About a week after we opened up our apartment on Airbnb, I decided we needed a couple of chairs and table to fill the common space outside of the apartment. Jenn found the perfect set of chairs and then painted and refurbished a record player cabinet and turned it into a table. She has great vision and creativity to make one of a kind items that you can't find anywhere else! I couldn't be happier with the finished products!
