Arrived today at 2:20pm. Open flags out. Young couple hitting from the mats. Went to use ball machine and it didn’t work. Young man that was hitting from the mat came over and told us the machine wasn’t working. They had walked out onto the grass and picked up some balls to hit. No attendant was around. I called the Mass. number on the website and voice mailbox was full. So I texted number. Got a call right back. I take it he was the owner. I explained the ball machine wasn’t working, no one was around and open flags were up. Young couple had picked up some of the balls on the ground and was hitting them. He was upset because they didn’t heed the stay off the grass sign. But his Open flags were up. He was very rude. Said “what do you mean the machine is broken”. Very poor customer service and a very poorly run business. Who runs a business unattended? Hope he has great liability insurance! Prices are outrageous! $20 for a large bucket of balls. No way to run a business. Previous owner was great. We went and played 9 holes at Indian Mound. Talked with some locals who said they’ve heard other complaints about this Bucket of Balls place. Nice looking place. Great that it has an auto ball dispenser and clubs available to borrow as there was no one around when I stopped by. Prices are listed but there are no signs telling you how many balls you get for each bucket size. Interestingly, many of the reviews mention reasonable prices so I thought why not just go for a large bucket. Imagine my surprise when I spent $20 on a large bucket to get 26 balls. I’m visiting from out of town so maybe the price to ball ratio is normal for this area but I was expecting no less than 70 balls for that price.
