I have a 2017 F350 Crew cab single axle. I had taken my truck in to have the engine looked at Bob Allen Ford. Greg the SM told me that I needed rear brakes. I said yes, a couple days later the brakes were done so I went and picked up my truck. A few days later I went to use my emergency brakes but they didn’t work. Greg said to bring them back in, so I did. They showed me my E brake shoe was bad. Another $100 they replaced it. A couple of days later I go to use my E brake to find out my truck and trailer was rolling forward. My E brake still wasn’t working!! Greg said to bring it in again for the 3rd time. After the 3rd time back in the shop they said they fixed it, so I believed them. I went to hook up to my trailer and to my surprise my emergency brake still didn’t work! What is wrong with these people! Greg said to bring it back for the 4th time. I politely asked for my money back so I could take it to a company that was competent enough to do a simple brake job. They wouldn’t give me a refund, I also can’t keep going back and forth waisting my time, so week passes by and I hear something grinding in the back of my truck. I checked my rear tires and lug nuts to find that the driver side tire was almost off and I was missing two lug nuts off the passenger side. I then called back and wanted to talk to someone above Greg and got Mr Sean. He wouldn’t give me a refund either. He said to give him a chance. So reluctantly I tried to trust him. Bob Allen sent Spencer out to swap trucks so they could fix my brakes for the 4th time. It took Monday - Friday for my brakes. I was told the wrong emergency brake shoes were installed. I also find out my brakes came from a local auto store. This dealership doesn’t have Ford parts? When I got my truck back I drove it about 4 miles and started smelling the metal from my brakes over heating. I threw snow on them to show how hot they were. I sent the video to Sean for him never to reach back out again. I took my truck back to the dealership to show the two sales people who were working over the holiday weekend. She took a video also and said she sent it to Lee who is the owner. Mr, Lee hasn’t reached out either. The sales crew seems great but the skill set in the shop needs work. They’ve lost any business of mine or of anyone I can persuade to...
Read moreWe saw a used car online and on a whim went down to look. Our salesperson was very nice. We took it for a test drive and decided to move forward and filled out paperwork for a loan.
The next day they called and said we were approved and told us how much our payments would be. I had already ran the numbers and mine didn't come close to those. We went in anyway.
The sales manager greets us and takes us in his office to show us the break down. The price of the car, the service contract, the fees. Uhh, I never asked for a service contract and right away said I would not be interested in it. He glosses over my remark and continues on explaining the sales tax etc. Why do they think they can just throw a $2400 warranty on it with the assumption that 1) we are interested at ALL in the warranty and 2) we wouldn't notice? When I buy any other product I am ASKED if I want an extended warranty. Just another sleazeball sales trick that makes buying a car a horrible experience.
In the end, their best price wasn't where we wanted it to be so we shook hands and left.
After some talking at home, we decided that we would be willing to come up on our offer and called them back. We asked for them to come back with their absolute best price and made it clear that we WERE NOT interested in the warranty. When they call back, their "best price" is now higher than the price they gave us when we were actually there. The old bait-and-switch. Now that it was CLEAR we were NOT going to get the warranty, their new "best price" was oddly higher than the previous price they quoted us. Then, they had the gall to say they had never given us the first price. Excuse me? Both myself and my wife have it written down in our (separate) notes. So now, it is a flat out lie. I can deal with shoddy sales tactics and tough negotiations (and even leaving the deal, amicably, when a deal isn't going to be made) but lying to me and my wife is not one that I am willing to tolerate.
It is too bad that this is what we had to deal with while trying to shop local. The good that came of this is that I was able to find the same vehicle but a year newer, with 10,000 less miles and the upgraded trim package for $1 less than Advantage Ford's first "best price." Unfortunately, it was...
Read moreAfter researching vehicles and dealerships we found ourselves at Bob Allen Ford in Ottawa, KS. Since Ottawa, KS is quite a drive from where we live, I called down to the dealership to make sure the vehicle we found online was still in their inventory. I called before hours so there was no sales person available to assist, but the lady who answered the phone said she could look up the stock number. She found it to still be in stock so we were on our way. As we pulled into the lot, the 2018 Escape was being pulled up in front of the dealership.DJ the salesman got out of the vehicle and introduced himself. My husband and I checked the stock # on the window sticker and that was the vehicle. DJ said someone called earlier inquiring about it, and then I explained it was us. He took us inside to talk about the escape. We test drove it, but I wanted to compare it to other vehicles, so he pulled around a focus, ecosport, and fusion. i was able to test drive them all. He was very patient with me as I wanted to make sure I was making the right decision. After test driving all those vehicles I realized the Escape was for me. DJ brought us in and we talked finances. He was very helpful and knowledgable. He knew I was very skeptical about financing a vehicle from previous experiences. He gave my husband and I time to discuss whether this was the right choice for us. My husband wanted to make sure we were fully covered in all areas of financing and warranties, so DJ gave us options and let us know it was ultimately our decision on those options. He agreed to our decisions and began the paperwork. During this long process from start to finish DJ kept his patience, and was friendly during the entire time. We felt comfortable with our decision after the entire process. I will recommend Bob Allen Ford to others looking to purchase a new vehicle.
To Bob Allen Ford... Thank You for allowing us to work through our concerns and creating a comfortable atmosphere to assist us with making the right decisions. Not too many car salesman allow you to make your own decisions, instead they convince you that “their” decisions are best for you, but not in this case, you gave us the opportunity to make our own. Thank you for the friendly service! And we have enjoyed the “new to us”...
