To start it off, I want to say the ladies at the front and my waitress was amazing, soo nice, and really friendly...customer service is on point! Buuuut....For those who do NOT know any better, this is the place to go for bland American food, not Japanese food. I drove 22 miles to give this place a shot based on recommendations and turned out to be disappointed. Probably because I was spoiled with real Japanese food, being born and raised in Hawaii, also lived in Las Vegas, (the ninth Hawaiian island), and, oh yeah, being 50% Japanese... Their prices are ridiculously high for what's being served. I didn't know any better, so I tried a few things off of their menu for a family of 4 because I wanted to taste what they had, I drove a while and was excited, I really got my hopes up because the other reviews - I thought they'd have 4.7 food like Google had posted...NOPE... The appetizers (gyoza "aka...dumplings on the menu") and the edamame tasted prepackaged frozen and reheated (just like the bibigo brand from 888 International Market in Kansas City). Also, I asked for the Edamame JUST to be salted, instead it came out sauced and it tasted of burnt garlic, kikkoman and powdered ginger. It wasn't even a tasty mess-up. The crab rangoons were fried nicely though! It was more of a dessert than an appetizer but that was okay. The miso soup tasted like those dehydrated packages from the Asian aisle at WalMart (hot water with a hint of miso flavor). I really don't want to continue, but I shall. The rice was hard for all of us (it stuck in my teeth like it was sitting out to get dehydrated for a WHILE). The salad was good, just hold back on the dressing, its a small bowl with one piece of lettuce, it doesn't need 1/4 cup of dressing. Shrimp and Veggie tempura? No-go! the sauce provided is disgusting- so to substitute for the sauce all I asked for was a side of sesame oil (they don't have any?!- dead giveaway as to why food was bland). My kids ordered off the kid menu shrimp and both ordered sushi rolls which were fancy crab rolls. Their food tasted better than mine, it actually had a salty flavor (better than bland). It wasn't worth a kid menu item being $15 though. My husband had the beef Udon which was mislabeled, it should have been labeled the cabbage udon. Pulled out the noodles and had nearly half a head of shredded cabbage, not to mention no broth whatsoever. Beef udon ingredient list consisted of hot water, cabbage, veggies, noodles and beef (in that order of most to least). To sum it all up, ticket was $164.40. Definitely not worth the price. Food here had surely...
Read moreThe staff were pretty nice. But even on a busy Saturday night, they are more concerned with getting off early for personal reasons. We went in plenty of time before they closed. But we did watch them try to discourage customers coming in at around 9:15 because they close at 10. They told the people that they'd have to already know what they want to order & be able to be out within 15 minutes. To my surprise, the people were fine with that & said they'd be out of their within that time frame. (We left prior, so not sure how that ended up?) Right after our food was served the staff started to clean up all around us while we were trying to eat. Cute place, but the atmosphere wasn't the best because everyone seemed to feel rushed to get out of there. I understand to some degree. But when we were there way before closing, we shouldn't have had to feel so rushed. I ordered the udon noodles with chicken. I'm not sure if the chef thought we were sharing our meals, but I didn't get any chicken with my noodles. Just a few veggies. My girlfriend ordered teriyaki chicken. It came with LOTS of chicken & a few random shrimp as well?? She thought it was ok. And my noodles were also ok. But I didn't like that it was basically just some noodles. Overall, not a very good experience. But, I do see all of the glowing reviews, so I will probably try it again at...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious food! The decor is fancy, the staff presentation is elegant and the food is superb! They pay attention to detail and present the food with class giving a fine dining experience. No long waiting for service. The restaurant is small so the wait staff is close by to grab your refills or dirty dishes quickly. The server we had was able to give great suggestions from the menu by asking the right questions as to what we were in the mood for, cooked sushi or raw. They serve an absolutely delicious hibachi teriyaki chicken and shrimp. Topped off with a side of yum-yum sauce to dip the shrimp in. It was an explosion of flavor mixed with a great experience. The prices are exact for the average rates of a Japanese Steakhouse with Sushi. I still can't believe how decorated our sushi was. As if they really try. I highly recommend this restaurant! If you love Asian food as much as I do, you...
