Heron's Landing — Local services in Ottawa

This place looks barren and bleak. No thought to landscaping. Why anyone would live here is beyond me. Maybe being close to three amazing state parks is the draw. We went for the boat launch though and it was a good one. Dock workers were friendly and helpful. Since the span of the river between locks isn't all that long, our boat ride was fairly short.
