Customer Review for Dollar General in Oxford on 11/9
I had a disappointing experience at the Dollar General store in Oxford on November 9th. I went in to purchase a few items: an Airwick warmer, two Airwick refills, a Febreze plug refill, and Palmolive dish soap. There was a coupon for $4.00 off the Airwick warmer, which was priced at $4.00, so I expected that to work perfectly. The Airwick refills were $6.25 each with a buy one, get one free deal, or so I thought.
When I checked out, I noticed my receipt showed that the coupon for the warmer only took off $3.23, and the buy one, get one deal didn't translate correctly, taking off just $5.05. I brought this to the attention of the cashier, Sherri, who claimed that nothing is free and that I would have to pay something. She said it was a system error and there was nothing she could do about it.
I asked to speak with a manager, only to find out that Sherri was the manager. She informed me that the only option I had was to contact the corporate office for assistance. When I asked for the contact details, she struggled to find the information and suggested I "Google it." While I did end up reaching out to corporate, they acknowledged it was an error on their part and were surprised to hear that the manager couldn't help resolve the issue. They promised to send a gift card for the difference, but I wasn’t interested in a gift card; I wanted my money back in my original payment method.
Overall, the customer service was lackluster and far from friendly. Because of this frustrating experience, I won't be shopping at Dollar General again. I hope they can improve their training for both cashiers and managers...
Read moreUsually I’ll go here for a few quick things because it’s convenient but i feel like walking through an entire Walmart super store and self check out would be faster than walking through the Oxford Dollar General. I usually grab 2-3 items and it usually takes me about 20 min to get out of there because there’s only 1 or 2 people working and no one is ever at the register. Half the time I have to yell across the store “can someone check me out? Helllooooo?” and that’s when someone comes running out of the break room saying “sorry sorry sorry”. Tell that worker to put his weed pen down and work. I almost don’t wanna walk into that establishment ever and don’t get me started on the looks of the store. Bins everywhere, boxes everywhere, U boats blocking 8 of 10 isles. I recommend AVOIDING Oxford...
Read moreThis Dollar General was very well stocked and looked very well taken care of. The cashier was super nice and helpful when I had questions about using the app for coupons, she was very patient with me since it was the first time I had used the app and had trouble loading my digital coupons. The cell coverage is spotty so she suggested I use the store guest WiFi, which solved my issues! If you haven't checked out the Dollar General app you should, they have really great digital coupon deals that make the cost of what you are buying even more affordable. (I got a large bottle of the new Snuggle fabric softener for just $1 by loading a digital coupon and shopping the weekly sale. The bottle said it does something like 56 loads...
