Arc Foundation Thrift Store — Local services in Oxnard

Great store! Never seemed to have an issue besides sometimes items can be crazy expensive for a secondhand store. The cashiers are always sweet and kind and professional. However my most recent encounter was terrible. I had a reusable fabric bag with my wallet in it because I had no pockets. A young women politely asked me to check in my bag bc it was to big. I asked her what the size requirement was as I see other people with bags in the store. She didn’t know the answer bc it’s completely subjective. Then I proceeded to fold my bag down to a very small size. She said “you can’t do that”. I was baffled that I couldn’t fold my reusable bag and keep it on me. I asked for a manager but of course she said she was left in charge. She asked me to leave the store is I wasn’t going to check the bag in. I found this to be very poor behavior in managing skills and customer service. So I stepped out folded my fabric bag and tucked under my shirt. went back into the store and continued shopping. If I could give zero stars I would. The Corporate Office needs to investigate the staff and the direct harassment to customers who aren't Hispanic. The staff singled out people and follows them around, talks about them, some have even taken a woman's items from her and not let her pay for them! They accuse many of stealing and I never have seen anything being taken by who they treat this way. Some of the workers need to be let go and bring in a new crew who are more into helping anyone who comes to shop and not only give service to their friends and the stealing is obviously being done internally-it's so obvious. Any staff who harass people for shopping are trying to get the attention off themselves. Seriously, I see a huge lawsuit coming your way very soon if changes...

I thought I was going to like this store but the pricing is being done by someone unskilled. There was a box of duplos for $50 with very few people. A box of legos for $129. The pricing is not comprable to other thrift stores. Every other shop I went to had better pricing. Skip this store. If the money is donated, get it together. Price correctly and things will leave your store in a timely fashion. The max price for that box of duplos should be $25. The max price for the legos should be $50. Look at other stores and price appropriately and remember things are used and often incomplete. People come to thrift shops to get a deal, not to get a bunch of random legos that don't clearly go to sets for...
