2022.02-06/SUN_1600: I swear anyone can spend hours in the place! This place is awesome! All the items they had here made me reminisce about my childhood. All the candy (which I thought didn't exist anymore), souvenirs, toys, board games, travel games, pop...just about everything, you will be able to find in this shop, will definitely take you back to the good ol' days.
World War II, Post War, Boomers and Gen X folks would love this place. Not only do they have fresh produce, they have everything under the sun that you will remember from your childhood! They even had the Felix the Cat wall clocks! Old Coke vintage memorabilia, candy cigarettes, rock candy, Pop Rocks, board games, playing cards, puzzles, and all the eccentric items you can think of from the decades passed. They have Charlie Brown Farms brand candy and foods. They had preserves, funnel cakes, dehydrated veggies and fruits, soft serve ice cream and even their own BBQ meats. You can order your food and shop while you wait. They have indoor and outdoor dining areas. Everything about this place is nostalgic.
We all had something different to eat. Their menu is pretty big for a small gift shop. We had a bit of everything - Pastrami Sandwich on Marble Rye bread served with a homemade pickle, Brisket Burger with garlic cheese fries, a hot dog, a two item plate with Tri-Tip and Brisket with beans and Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Everything was delicious! The meats were gently smoked, moist and JUICY! Wow, the meat was seasoned just right. It has to be a dry rub. It wasn't doused in BBQ sauce so you can taste the meat! All I've got to say is that you'll be satisfied with whatever you get. They perfected their BBQ. The marble rye bread was perfect. I didn't want tons of bread if I had gotten the hoagie roll. I loved that the juices from the pastrami soaked my rye bread. Everything else was just as delicous. They give you a huge amount of fries, too! I really can't say anything bad about the food - everything was great! I can't wait to visit again and try their desserts. It's all the desserts that you can only get at fairs - deep fried Oreos, deep fried Trinkies, mini donuts (by the bucket), funnel cakes, Dole whipped soft serve ice cream, root beer floats, homemade fudge, and etc!!! The list is endless there! Just the nostalgic experience was incredible. You'll definitely feel life a kid again!
When you have a few hours to spare, this place is definitely...

Ok so we did order food to go. In the meantime, walked around the stores. This is a jewel in the desert. You may not get transported to the olden days of radiator city (cars reference), but definitely it has a nice chill old days vibe.
Random items you may not find elsewhere. The fudge counter has actually to my surprise very good quality chocolates and truffles and other treats.
The Charlie brown name sake items are unique and really pretty cool. Give yourself a bit of time to walk around to see everything. Our food was ready so didn't make it to the deli which is regrettable.
Ok so the food. Let me just say, the flavor and smoke on the pulled pork and brisket again surprised me. The 2 meat combo with beans and garlic mashed potatoes was my selection for sides. Great on both fronts. Kidney and pinto beans baked with onion and seasoning. Mild but very flavorful. The meat however stole the show. BBQ sauce on the side made for a perfect dipping side. The pulled pork falls apart. Juicy and tender and oh so flavorful. The brisket was also juicy and seasoned well. Not dry at all. This is not, at least I wouldn't consider it a fast food stop. Although you meal is ready relatively quick. Lol...
The flavor and quality of the smoke is much better than actual smoke spots in the palmdale and lancaster.
My son got the pastrami sandwich and said it was the best he's had EVER... OK he's 14 but does love a good pastrami. My wife agreed though so if in doubt the pastrami seems like a good option as well.
Recap, whether a quick stop for some food or a destination trip, you will t go wrong with ordering some food. Just save time to walk around the grounds....
Read morethey need to train staff better. If somone gets out of line that's it. Take the next customer, especially if they only have 3 items. Cashier let a kid who wasn't ready to check out go grab more stuff to buy.... instead of letting us check out, they hadn't started ringing anyone up yet, they told us to wait. Kids comes back and now doesn't have enough money. We want to leave. My boyfriend offers to pay it so we an LEAVE. Kid runs off again. I'm now getting in a verbal disagreement with the cashier about her lack of ability to prioritize checkout properly. She could have rang our stuff and and we could have paid in a total of 30 seconds but we are waiting minutes for a kid who wasn't even ready to checkout?! What a joke... the cashier refused to give her name and so I informed the manager who seemed to not really care. He had a visible disability, cant remember his name, seemed like a good enough guy. Doubt hes even a manger there still. but he only seemed to care about a rude customer the week before who tried to assault someone? To which I explained that had nothing to do with our transaction the lack of ability of the cashier to check people out appropriately who are in line with all their stuff and payment ready, it was unprofessional. The cashier could have taken us and checked us out but instead wanted to make everyone in line wait an extra 4 minutes for a kid who wasn't even ready to check out. Train employees better. Teach then that if someone is going to walk away for a minute or 2 just to ring up the next customer who has their stuff and payment ready. It IS...
