Shear Magnolia Hair Salon — Local services in Palmer Township

I wasn't going to say anything at first, I was going to see if I could deal with it, but it's a week out now and I've had time to think about it.

I went to Kiley with four pictures of what I wanted. Four. We talked about it. We talked about the front, the sides, and the back. Yes it's a shorter haircut. I had long hair, but I had something similar to the short cut before and I really loved it. I said please, if you're not sure go on the longer side I can always come back and get it trimmed. But if you cut it too short... and that's exactly what she did.

But not only did she cut me way too short, she made no attempt to style my hair anything like the picture. The pictures I brought were highly stylized, the hair looked piece-y and spiky and a little bit tousled. When she finished cutting off my hair, she took a round brush and completely tamed my hair and made me look like a boy. No spiking, no gel, no teasing.

Am I wrong in thinking that I'm paying not just for the haircut but also for the styling? It may be trendy, but we don't all want smooth flat hair.

It’s definitely her style. She has cut & styled my hair before when I wanted to embrace my natural wavy / curly hair. Alley has highlighted and cut my hair multiple times, and gives an amazing scalp massage. Kylie has highlighted and cut my hair as well, and I’ve let her do pops of color multiple times to change it up. My hair hasn't been cut in years. I was recommended this salon by a close friend and was able to reserve an appointment that works with my schedule very quickly. The salon was easy to find and I was warmly greeted as I entered the door. THE SHOP IS STUNNING!! My stylist, Kylie, took her time to understand the look I was going for and was very skilled in her delivery. She was very patient and kind. She also laughed at my jokes which is always a bonus!
