My wife went there today and was told $9 a bucket all you can pick. So she took the bucket, picked what she wanted, which included the sunflowers. The lady at the counter made fun of my wife in front of other customers for thinking she could eat the sunflower seeds. We grow them here, and my wife eats fresh sunflower seeds all the time, as does any sunflower farmer. So the lady at the counter continues to be rude to my wife telling her that she cant eat them because they're sprayed with poisonous chemicals, and that she shouldn't even decorate with them. Then continues to say she wants $15 a piece for the 2 in her bucket. And then the lady says to her customers 'what kind of people eat that?". So my wife left crying, the lady scammed her out of $20, and in the end we ended up with no sunflowers or vegetables. Literally, my left left there without her $20, no flowers, no vegs, absolutely nothing for the $20, and to top it off she was made fun of in front of other customers. Previously my visit to this place made me wonder why they're even open. Their vegs always look wilted and on the verge of death, nothing looks healthy, and now knowing that they use poisonous chemicals right there on the farm on some items that are growing right next to the food supply says a lot about how they treat their customers, their product, and the safety of the citizens. Steer away from this place, there are several other places down the road with friendly staff and a non-toxic...
Read moreTgis is the second time I have stopped at this stand. The first time I wanted some cheese curds. "Fredh curds" as advertised on the sign. Cheese was vaccuum sealed and dated a month away. Fresh?
I stoppednthis week for some sunflowers. It is pick your own, so she handed me a bucket and shears and told me the price of flowers is betqeen $1 and $8. When i went to the sunflowers it was very slim pickings. I went back to ask for some help, since i thought I was looking in the wrong place. She did not seem too excited to come and help me, but she did. When she had some rough looking specimens in the bucket, she asked if I wanted more. I asked what my total so far is, since I have a budget, and didnt know what she might charge me for the bucket contents. She replied. "I have no idea" i guess she cant count without a cash register.
I ended up leaving with $20 of very rough looking sunflowers. By the time I got home, they looked even worse. They were thrown out the next day as most of the remaining petals fell...
Read moreI saw this place when I was going to a horseshoe tournament and I had it in the back of my mind as my wife and I were leaving the area and heading back to the East Coast with our travel trailer. My wife asked me why I was going this way and I said I found this beautiful flower garden that the sign says pick your own flowers. We stopped in and asked about picking flowers and were kindly escort to a bucket and some snips then pointed in the flower direction. After picking about a dozen stems which almost filled the 5 gallon Home Depot bucket we headed into pay but not before selecting some freshly picked vegetables. I’m writing this review because these flowers were absolutely gorgeous for a full 2 1/2 weeks! I marked my spot on Google maps to stop here again whenever I am...
