Humble Bee Removal — Local services in Palo Alto

On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in the middle of the afternoon all of a sudden we hear this strange noise coming from the walls on the side of our house from inside the bedroom. We go outside and there are literally hundreds of bees hovering around a hole in the side of the house that happened because the gate got pulled away from the house in the last storm. The hole was only about 5 inches around and the bees found their way in there. I did a Google search and found Humble Bee Removal. I wanted someone who could come and take the bees away but not kill them. Spoke to a gentleman named Jason on the phone who is really nice. We were kind of freaking out and he could tell from my voice that we were, and he was very calming and positive that they could handle the situation. He sent his son, Zion, over and he was there within the hour. He was really nice and he explained everything to us in great detail. Very personable and professional. He got to work and within about an hour and a half or so everything was done; the bees were gone. He patched up the hole on the outside of the house. He took them away in his bee vacuum canister and they were going to be taken to their new home. They were alive and they were safe and we were happy. I love bees, but not in my walls!

Our wasp situation was a little unique in that we were finding live wasps inside the house. Looking for local help (East Bay) was difficult because one told us we would have to locate the nest before he would come to remove it and another said he doesn’t climb onto roofs but only deals with nests at ground level. We are so thankful we found Jason on Yelp (check him out there because he has a ton of great reviews) because (1) he found the nests for us, (2) he climbed onto the roof to do so, and (3) he normally services the peninsula but was willing to come to us because it was early in the season.

We are so happy with Jason because he was responsive (I left him a message on a Saturday afternoon, he called back a few hours later, and was at our house the next day), very friendly, and very knowledgeable. Not only did he locate and remove the wasp nests, but he also secured the entry points so that if they return and rebuild, they won’t get back into the house. He then gave us a bunch of tips on how to secure other parts of the house that might be attractive to wasps wanting to build nests.

After hearing buzzing noises in my bedroom wall for a couple of months, I discovered it was a bumble bee nest and reached out to Jason for help. After a couple of days of consulting me over the phone with calls and texts, Jason and his son graciously agreed to take time out of their busy schedule to come by and assess the situation and advise my landlord on the matter.

Unfortunately, my landlord did not hire him. But that's OK, because even though I wish he had gotten the job, an acceptable and beneficial solution was reached, and Jason did not seem put off too much.

I'm writing this review because Humble Bee Removal did an excellent, professional job in explaining things to me and offering sage advice.
