Southwest Fireplace — Local services in Palos Township

I reached out to Southwest Fireplace in the search of a fireplace company that would provide good customer service & repair on a Heat-n-Glo fireplace insert that had been installed by another company. I am happy to report that this is exactly what I received from Southwest Fireplace. First, I spoke to Debbie from customer service and she was fantastic, very personable, knowledgeable on their company, provided me with service options, and answered all of my questions. Second, was their service technician, Roy! Roy has been in the industry for years and you could tell. One of the worst companies you could have come into your home. They installed 3 firepalces in our new, white home. Two started spewing soot onto our brick, staining it black. They could not identify the issue and actually broke one of the fireplaces so it does not work. They have refused to schedule a time to fix any of the issues. The third fireplace has never worked, they've ordered the wrong parts after improperly installing it the first time. It's been 6 months of headache now and they threaten if we got the work done elsewhere, they'll void all our warranties. They leave our home a mess every time. Fantastic! Worked with Dean Erickson at the Palos location who was very knowledgeable and great customer service. Best of all he understood our needs and didn’t try steering us into higher priced products. He personally came out to measure for FP doors and logs we ordered for our basement FP and suggested a modification to the logs setup in our upstairs FP. Roy Burger was the technician who came out for the install. Roy did an excellent professional job installing a new set of doors, logs and refurbishing of our existing log set in a timely manner .
