Five Below — Local services in Panama City

Giving two stars because I appreciate that the store was super clean, however, the manager that was working tonight was super rude. As soon as I was approaching the door he was standing there and continuously kept looking at his watch and mumbled something as I walked in. As I was shopping , which was 30 minutes before closing time, I came in for a couple of things really quickly. I knew what I wanted and so I was ready to be in and out and most definitely planned on being out before 9:00 p.m. when they closed. As I was in an aisle shopping, the manager came around with a industrial Swiffer and I could tell that he was not going to go around me so I immediately moved out of his way and went into the next aisle over. As soon as I did that he came back around from the way that he originally came and came into the aisle that I was in again and literally says to me "go that way" and points in front of him. As someone who doesn't like confrontation or like to argue, I did. Also as someone who was a manager in retail for a good while, I would have never treated a customer that way and most definitely would not have told them to move. I can understand from personal experience that it sucks when people come in right before you're about to close. But at the end of the day you do not close at 8:30, you close at 9:00, so do not make your customers feel uncomfortable while they're shopping. The white male associate named Eric lacks proper training. It is proper to ask a customer if they need help with their transaction rather than position yourself as store security as if you are monitoring self check-out for theft. As an associate, you must be professional in conduct and not profile customers. Placing coins in the small slot at self check-out takes time and not to be mistaken as if something is wrong such as theft. This was not a good experience for me and my minor child who noticed the conduct of the associate and wondered why we were mishandled. This won't happen again because I will address it to correct it immediately. This is a closed matter but this rating is to help teach retail associates how to handle situations properly at check-out instead of assuming possible theft. my favorite place for cheap but good quality products. I cannot go in there with too much money or I will buy the whole store. I had gotten a really good gaming mouse that is one of the best I have ever owned. there is home decor, art supplies, good quality makeup and purfume. Basically anything you can think of they have it at low prices. even considering Christmas shopping here. this store is really cleaned and organized and a fun fact is that the store layouts for five below are laid out like a maze which is neat...
