For a resort that advertises itself as high-end and that limits crowded conditions through reservations, we found Deer Valley crowded and dangerous, with poorly groomed slopes.
On our first run under Sterling Express on Nabob and Keno, the slopes were crowded and we saw people skiing dangerously fast, with little respect for other skiers, coming dangerously close to one another. The conditions were partly icy and there was no evidence of grooming anywhere. There was no ski patrol in sight, no safety monitoring, no signs, and no incentive to slow down. We almost left after one run, but tried our luck on another lift. It was a little better, but not much. $299 under these conditions? Youāve got to be kidding me. We left, and will not return.
Imagine my surprise when leaving the mountain, I see a single sign: āEvery skier gets 15 feet. Avoid collisions by giving others 15 feet of space on all sides. if kids are present, go slower and give them moreā¦ā
We are expert skiers and have been skiing for over 30 years. We will not be back. My advice to anyone, especially families with children: Take your business elsewhere. Itās dangerous, crowded, and expensive at Deer Valley, with little or no safety oversight...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreāTheā place to ski front side groomers. No others compare. Weekends are crowded but not as crowded as anywhere else. We will continue to ski 20 plus days here every season.
Update:
Skied DV 42 days this season. 2021
After skiing Copper mountain(3 days) and beaver creek(3days) in Co this season, Big Sky, (15 days) Aspen (Ajax, highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass, 10days) in the past (Willmont , and alpine valley WI).
Iāll report back next season on Jackson Hole, Park City (yes I know itās close to DV and Iām lazy) and Vail next season.
Iām even more convinced DV is the best place for front side skiing. The best trained, friendly staff and engaged and present ski patrol team. DV provides the best experience.
All that said all including DV charge too MUCH for lift tickets and food. Itās getting expensive!
We will try every ski resort we can but we havenāt found anything that matches...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDeer Valley Ski Resort is an absolute blast! From the moment you hit the slopes, you're greeted with some of the best powder around. The snow conditions are consistently amazing, making every run smooth and enjoyable. The resort is well-maintained, with great amenities and top-notch service. Whether you're an advanced skier or just starting out, there's a perfect slope for everyone. The stunning mountain views only add to the experience. My only wish is that they had a terrain park to mix things up a bit more. If you're looking for an unforgettable ski trip, Deer Valley is definitely the place to go! Highly recommend for anyone who loves great powder and a...
