Two families shared unit 4205/4207 over the President’s day weekend. As mentioned in other reviews - the Lodges are privately owned units which are rented out. This unit was set up well with a queen, a king, and third bedroom with bunk beds to sleep 4. There is a pullout sofa as well. Only knock on the unit is the TV - the only smart TV is located in the bunk bed room and not in the main living area. The TV in the living area is small, certainly compared to the other units we saw through the window. Kitchen was adequately appointed as we cooked in a few nights and used the outdoor grills as well. Breakfast was included for our stay and it was fantastic. Skier shuttles take you to the Snow Park base area but it can be busy so you may end up waiting to get a shuttle - better to leave early or late. Same is true returning to the Lodges. We had to walk back a few days because the shuttles couldn’t keep up. The walk is not terrible, but it is a half mile. ||Hot tub and pool were a big hit with everyone. The robes are not to be discounted! Very handy keeping you warm to and from the hot tub.||Mountain conditions were tough - no snow here in seven weeks so it feels like east coast skiing. Corduroy would be skied off quickly and by mid day many trails were down to ice. Thankfully the resort got some snow (approx 4 inches) which helped a bit.||All in - I’m not sure I would stay here again. We stayed during the holiday period so the rates were heavy but I will look for other options if we return. For this price point, I would want more services such as a restaurant capable of servicing the hotel. The Brass Tag was closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays but were also closed over the President’s Day holiday. However, I will say the Cadillac service was so very awesome. The drivers are really the face of the resort, and drivers like Doug, Pat, Michael, Peter and Matthew all made our stay great. They were so friendly and offered so much history and...
Read moreTons of deferred maintenance - took the staff over 90 minutes to remedy a fire alarm in the middle of the night, keeping (I assume) all guests awake. The fire department was able to fix the noise relatively promptly, however the lights (a hotel maintenance issue) continued flashing for over an hour and a half).
Compensation was $100 discount for losing a night of sleep, when we paid almost $700/night to stay.
GM Anthony was condescending (I’m assuming because I’m 29, far younger than the average guest) and offered to “bump it up by ‘50 bucks’” his words verbatim, which frankly is insulting.
This is clearly a case of an HOA that needs to spend a little more on maintenance. The heater in the rooms has a 3 degree threshold (set to 71 and it waits until 67-68 to kick on, and then heats to 72 before turning off) so the rooms are either too hot or too cold most of the time. Door to the main area was constantly stuck open letting cold into our hallway, elevators down, elevator fire door broken so we could access our floor after the debacle was over, etc.
Other than the GM, most of the other staff were very welcoming and accommodating, and our view from our suite was STUNNING.
Overall I suggest finding a newer property to stay at with a better...
Read moreWe stayed here for the beer festival and it was pretty disappointing. We stayed at Silver Baron last year and it was definitely better. Our room was just weird. We had a “deluxe room” that felt like we were in a cave—rm 5426. The windows were on the ceiling. There was one window on the wall, but it was set as our headboard. No regular bed headboard, metal bed frame and that’s it. The bed was so high that you really should’ve had a step to get in it. I’m 5’ 6” and the bed height went to the middle of my back. I would start to lay back and had to push off the wall to get leverage in, haha. There weren’t blackout curtains at the headboard, so that was frustrating in the mornings. We had a queen bed instead of a king. I saw they had other rooms with them, so I’m not sure why we weren’t given one other than the cave we were in couldn’t have fit it in the nook. No plastic dirty linen bags, no housekeeping, no safe to hold wallets, jewelry, etc. We asked for a receipt of our stay and just got a copy of what we paid for parking, instead of the whole stay. It was all just weird. And the only reason I bring these things up are that for an 2-night $800 stay, you expect more. It was highly disappointing. We’ll stay...
