I went today for the first time at a head spa. I’ve heard of this location from social media, and based on the reviews I wanted to give it a try. Booking online was pretty easy as they have a flexible schedule that works for me, but I had questions that couldn’t really be answered since they don’t have a website. I wasn’t sure what I needed to wear, do I need to wash my hair, what to expect, etc. After doing some research on Google and social media sites, I found that wearing comfortable clothes is best. I suggest wearing yoga shorts or comfy shorts above the knees as they ask you to get into a gray strapless robe dress, and I was wearing leggings. I couldn’t roll up my leggings so I had no pants on underneath the robe. Next, I read that it’s best to not wash your hair 48 hours prior to your appointment. I last washed my hair on Wednesday morning and my appointment was on Saturday afternoon. Upon arriving to my appointment, I was greeted by a nice gentlemen who did the scalp analysis at the beginning to show you how gross your hair looks prior to the head spa. Then, Cristina took me to the back and showed me where to change. I kept my bra on and just put down my straps. I did the signature head spa with the hand and foot massage. Honestly, I was not a fan of the foot soak. Your feet soak in saltwater which the water is lukewarm. Then, your hands are put into gloves with lotion. I was then taken to the table to do the hair treatment along with a hand, foot, neck, and shoulder massage. I was almost falling asleep. It was very relaxing. The room was very cold as I am a cold person, so having my shoulders and neck exposed I was a bit tense, and Cristina was trying to get my hands to relax while trying to massage them. It’s hard to stay relaxed when the room was cold. They drape you with a fuzzy blanket, but since they are working on your neck and shoulders, that part has to be exposed and the water temperature that was touching my hair would fluctuate so it would be cold sometimes and I would get chills throughout my whole body. The whole service was said to take about an hour and 45 minutes, and it felt like 3 hours. I didn’t wanna leave it felt so relaxing. Once the service is over, I got dressed and headed to the front where my hair was blow dried (not styled). I didn’t mind them not styling my hair because my hair is curly, and I style it a certain way so having it styled by someone else would just be weird. After my hair was dried, the gentlemen did the scalp analysis again to show the after results and my scalp looked amazing. My hair also does feel amazing and cleaner. He was the only one at the front taking care of people coming in, drying hair, and doing scalp analysis so people had to wait and watch with you. It was a bit awkward and quiet honestly, but I enjoy the small businesses because those are the places that really care for clients. Tip is also not included in grand total, but I tipped well since they deserve it. Overall, the experience was wonderful for my first time. I really enjoyed Cristina and when I come back I will be requesting for her. I am knocking off 1 star because I wish they had a website like other places for FAQs for new clients, and I wish the room was not so freezing cold as it makes your muscles tense up and takes the effects away of...
Read morehead spas have been viral all over social media and I thought I'd be a great gift for my mom for Christmas. She, like many women, always thinks of herself for last and I know she can use a little forced relaxation. I am also usually in desperate need for a little self care so I decided to schedule an appt for the both of us to try out a head spa for the first time together.
We entered the spa and were kindly greeted and offered a yummy juice with fresh fruit. After checking in we were guided to some chairs and had our "before" scan of our scalp. Me and my mom are on opposite ends of the hair washing scale. She washes her hair everyday religiously and I wash 1-2 times per week. Both of our scans showed some clogged hair follicles and build up on the scalp.
We were escorted to the back rooms where they do the actual service. They provide you a robe and slippers to change into and give you a little basket to hold your clothes in. The service was amazing. A full hour of bliss for my hair, head, face and neck. The massage on my scalp was the perfect amount of pressure. The whole treatment was the definition of pure relaxation. The room has about 5 total tables in it but everyone is very quiet and in the spa zone.
After the treatment was over she massaged my neck and beck as I was sitting up and then brought me my clothes to change back.
After the treatment I was guided to the same area for scanning to get my hair dryed. They dried the scalp and then scanned again to show the after. I had a lot of clogged follicles which were definitely cleared up and my hair felt and smelled amazing.
Haus hair spa is a perfect way to relax and give your scalp and hair...
Read moreWe arrived shortly before our scheduled appointment time for three services and were surprised to find no one at the front to greet us. We sat in the waiting area for over 15 minutes without being acknowledged by a single staff member. When someone finally did come out, only one technician was available to start our appointments. A second technician was still with another client well past our scheduled time, and the third technician didn’t even arrive at the studio until 15 minutes after our appointment was supposed to begin. The “scalp analysis” was extremely brief — less than a minute per person — and consisted of a quick glance at our scalps with a magnifying camera. From there, we were brought into the treatment area for our services, which were noticeably shorter than advertised and felt rushed. The experience was underwhelming at best. To be fair, the technician assisting us did her best with the limited resources available, but the studio itself left much to be desired. It was dirty, unfinished, and in disrepair. The products used on our faces and hair left us feeling greasy and sticky — our skin felt slimy, and our hair felt dry and brittle. To top it off, they used old, worn-out hair brushes to comb through our hair post-treatment, which felt incredibly unhygienic. I’m frustrated I spent over $150 here. The service we received was nowhere near the “luxury” experience they advertise. They’re charging premium prices for a completely subpar, poorly managed operation. Their Instagram is extremely misleading, and features videos clearly filmed at a different salon. I left feeling disappointed. I would not recommend this...
