Starting coming here about 2 years ago b/c I live close by. Was told I needed to take a safety class. Took 2 months but I finally took the class. Since then I have been coming to the range every Saturday morning at 7am to shoot for an hour or so. This morning I was kicked off the range becuase im not a member of roving archers and was told if I wanted to use the range id have to come back at the hottest part of the day or use it during the week. I have a family and a regular job. This is my time to relax and have time to myself and enjoy my hobby. It was embarrassing getting kicked off the range today in front of an entire class. I have walked by roving archer employees for 2 years every Saturday morning. No one has said a word. If I wouldve known I wasn't allowed to be there on saturday mornings I wouldn't have paid to take the class. I just would've found somewhere else to go becuase saturday mornings...

This is essentially a pay to play on a public park that tax dollars go towards. The sudden need for a safety course when there's been zero incidents since the place opened, is also an issue. It's an overstep by the city. The misdemeanor charge you can receive for using the facility without the credential is also an issue. If the funds were used 100% for the class and credential, they would get away with it. I have their documents stating the fee does not go 100% towards these things and its essentially used for liability management for the city. Tax payers aren't responsible for this via an extra fee. It's part of our taxes that we...
