Doesn't get much better than this. The course was in phenomenal shape, the weather was perfect, and the greens were immaculate. The fairways are generously wide, with a few exceptions. While the greens were fast, they weren't overly tricky. All-in-all, the course was challenging, but didn't beat you up. My only wish is I lived in the area and could play here more often.

Complete trash golf course. Most expensive and worst conditions on the central coast. Golf cart turns off constantly and constant prompts you with dings and beeps that ur 5 min behind pace of play after you let 2somes pass your 4some and had to wait on them. Terribly maintained. Most expensive, least impressive golf course Ive ever played on in the central coast.

First time playing Hunter Ranch and the course is challenging. The back nine is a little quirky with blind shots and fairways that run out. Definitely pay attention to the GPS on the tiny screen to figure out your line. Pro shop and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful for this first timer. Greens are firm and fast.

UPDATE: We were contacted by Dave Lewis, head pro following our round to offer a proper customer service interaction and explain the situation. The way he handled it was exactly what you would expect from a profesional who cares about his course and the interaction was extremely impressive. We played another round while in Paso and given the pace of play, the professionalism of the staff that day and the course atmosphere I have changed my rating. Thank you, Dave, I only hope there are more golf pro's like you.

Original post: Honestly very disappointed in our round today. We came in from out of town for the holidays and received rave reviews and that we had to play there. Tee time of 1220 and actually got off 15 minutes early. We were told at check in that there was a frost delay but it was all caught up. We waited at every hole for 15 minutes and played the front nine in 2:45. At hole 7 we called about the slow play and a concern that we might not finish before dark and gently asked about a ranger. We spoke with Greg at the front desk and we were told that there's nothing to do about it, "a log jam is a log jam". We didn't see a ranger the entire time. We spoke with Greg after the round and he continued to give us excuses about the slow play. Pretty unacceptable service, especially for a $100+ round with mediocre course conditions at best. Already cancelled our follow on round, very...

Worst course on the central coast that I've been to! We are very much amateur golfers but this course, ESPECIALLY for the price they charge, is NOT worth it!! Club house and restaurant/ bar mediocre at BEST, course not well maintained, and no marshall keeping track of play pace! Now let me tell you, I'm bad enough that usually I'm the one who causes a hold up and have to let people go ahead of me, but when we played here we were in a huge domino line of slow people. We got through first 7 holes in just barely over one hour then it took us 2.5 hours to get from 8-14!! We had to wait at LEAST 5+ minutes to play EVERY SHOT, not just every hole, every SHOT (except for our puts of course.) Only to then have to wait at the next tee again for another 5-10 mins to tee off. (Too many slow groups, passing just one group would not have solved the issue.) The pace was unbearable to the point where I just lost interest and then eventually both my husband and i just said "f*ck it, let's leave" by the 14th hole. The only reason I'm not more angry is because I didn't pay for the full round because we had the central coast golf card. If you're wondering "what was the rush?" ...A) it threw us off our pace B) they were VERY ADAMANT that we MUST be BACK to the club house NO LATER than 5pm. Overall, waste of time. Will never come back to this course. Again, ESPECIALLY not...

Started going to hunter ranch again and it’s gone way downhill. Tee boxes are always trashed and uneven, the greens are always full of ball marks fairways are about the only good part. And all the times I’ve went the staff has been rude and or not very pleasant. And they complain about me RENTING a kart and always tell me they can’t keep doing that blah blah blah at a golf course for an hour to go hit some balls to go down to the driving range. So I’m glad I didn’t become a member. Have the day...
