5/28/2020: Saw ♡♡♡ Ringo✌ Starr ☆☆☆ & his All Star☆ Band here in Aug, 2019. 😊 I'm from LA, so I naturally will compare this venue, or anything like it, to the Hollywood Bowl, Greek Theater, etc & any other outdoor Southern CA venue. PROS: Great venue, great aesthetics, unusually small, so very intimate, high quality sound. The lawn seating has an EQUAL view to that of the seats, so will save you money ... if u dont mind "camping for concerts!" CONS: The food/drink options are limited & very pricey, gets very messy if you're trying to eat in the seats. The seating aisles are unusually narrow & if you're tall, with long legs or have a "few extra pounds" on you ... not comfortable. (Im 5'1" - so it's not so bad for me.) The entering, parking & leaving is a NIGHTMARE ... just like The Bowl &The Greek. Recommend using Uber/Lyft to save yourself these hassles! (definitely recommend this for the Bowl & Greek!). ••• ••• CON & COMPLAINT for THIS concert: On stage right, there were huge amplifiers in place, which TOTALLY BLOCKED THE VIEW for those of us seated off to the right side of that area. I/we COULD NOT SEE all band members, & Ringo's band was HUGE, comprising various members of 5 bands, so, there were a LOT of ppl on stage! Due to the placement of that stuff, I/we missed seeing a KILLER DRUM SOLO by Ringo's main drummer. I/we could only hear it. Very disappointing. SUGGESTIONS: 1) Find a way to have better placement of stage equipment so that no one's view is blocked. Not being clearly seen is an insult to an artist/performer! Also, I/we dont like our money WASTED! Removing all stage-viewing obstacles so that the ENTIRE STAGE & ALL PERFORMERS can be seen by all at all times will ensure that no one's concert experience is diminished & that no one's money is wasted due to only being able to see part of the stage. 2) Even though it's a small venue, a large screen or screens would be enhance the over all experience. 3) Have more variety of food/drink & less messy things to eat. 4) Because VR is out in the middle of nowhere, please, please condider offering ... PARK & RIDE ... like the Hollywood Bowl does (or did) for $5.00 each way (what they charged last time I used the service). This option is basically identical to what's used during the annual Mid State Fair. Have designated places for all SLO County residents to SAFELY park their cars & take a bus to VR & board that same bus when being taken back to their cars. No muss, no fuss, no waiting 30-45 minutes to exit the parking lot!! ××× Overall, do I like this venue? ABSOLUTELY! Will I go to concerts at VR again? MOST DEFINITELY! 👍 Oh & btw ... Ringo's concert was ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! So glad I finally got to see him here in SLO County in 2019. Missed him the first time around in about 2015. 😿 Been a Beatle fan since 1964 ... so, finally being able to see 1 of the 2 LIVING, REMAINING BEATLES was a decades-old dream come true! 🤗 Thank you, Vina Robles! Please invite...

Went to the comedy show last night, had a good time. The amphitheatre was beautiful, there is no real bad seating and you have access to anything you could pretty much crave. I didn't mind the overcrowding, I didn't mind the horrible drive back to the 46 and I didn't mind walking as far as we did from parking our car. Not everything goes perfectly and I'm good with that. Here's my issue and why we will probably never return. You can take pictures at ANY concert or with any celebrity show, not here. Once the show starts you cannot use your phone. I don't know if it is the amphitheatre policy or the comedians, I surely hope it wasn't the comedians. But again I can roll with it, I have never heard of the guy anyways. But when my son is texting me I sure as hell am going to text him back, I was literally harassed by security about my phone, I took it out twice to answer my phone for my son, no pictures, no video, nothing just a simple text back to my son. Now if you can see I'm on my phone you could obviously see I wasn't taking pictures or video. The men in our group were very upset that these men were so eager to say something to me about my phone. I assured them I was just texting my son and offered to show them to which one security guy was totally cool and the other trying to act like he was an actual police officer. In other words he was a jerk. It totally put a damper on our evening, we all left there less happy then when we walked in. And I won't go into the guy that tried to shush us girls because we were laughing too loudly, it's a comedy show I didn't know there was a decibel limit to how loudly we are allowed to laugh I swear we were not obnoxiously loud. Again that guy was just a jerk no reflection of the amphitheatre. So if you go don't dare answer your phone even if it's your child. I'll stick to Avila beach events or San Luis from now on and if it is that important I'll go to Los Angeles at least I'll know those venues will have bigger fish to fry than tracking down a woman...

I'm giving Vina Robles a 2-star rating, as a concert venue, for 1 reason - horrible lawn seating! We spent the entire night sliding down on top of our neighbors.

Several of us went to see Social Distortion last night. Great show, and Devil Makes Three was also great! Parking was easy - huge parking lot w/ staff directing traffic. Our friends arrived halfway through the concert and still parked near the entrance. Leaving was easy enough w/ staff directing traffic, again, but, since the concert sold out, there was a lot of traffic (and a lot of people running into traffic asking for rides). The venue is easy to get to, less than a 1/4 mile from hwy 46. It only took 10-15 mins to leave. So, if you're not driving, or you are drinking, wait for the parking lot to clear out before calling your Uber or Lyft driver - don't freak out! The venue was clean and there was a lot of room to move around in walkways/areas. There were plenty of indoor bathroom stalls and lines moved quickly. There was enough staff to help. The venue is set up for great acoustics; the wind was blocked enough to stay comfortable, even warm at times (especially at a sold-out show), at night in Paso in late September.

Now for the con, and it's a biggie to me, because I always choose lawn seating for outdoor concerts. Their lawn seating was very narrow and SEVERELY SLANTED (stadium seating) so everyone sitting on blankets slid down on top of their neighbors - ALL NIGHT LONG! Even people in stadium-style chairs weren't comfortable. I choose lawn seating so I'm not stuck in a chair in a row, unable to get in and out easily, plus being stuck in a hard plastic seat for hours sucks! So until the venue decides to level the lawn seating area I will not go back to this venue. It should be easy enough to level the lawn and throw up a mason wall in back below the railing that separates lawn seating from the common area. * we also paid $20 for...
