For a number of years we had some beautiful slabs of spalted maple stored in our barn. We always wanted to make some of these into 2 end tables and a sofa table. Our problem was that until we met Horst de Lorenzi we had been unable to find anyone who exhibited the craftsmanship and sensitivity to the wood. When we met Horst we immediately felt comfortable in trusting him with our prized wood. He showed us a prototype he made of what he anticipated the final product would look like. The fact that he went so far as to create a prototype was very impressive. His final product was, to say the least, spectacular. The workmanship and attention to detail was everything we could have wished for. In addition, he has refinished several pieces of antique furniture for us. As with his workmanship on our tables, his refinishing was also top notch.

I found Horst online through Google and simply went off of the reviews I read. I asked if he could fix a recent art item that I purchased that was damaged en route. Instead of agreeing right away, Horst requested to see if first rather than make any false promises. I really appreciated that. He decided he could fix it and I also asked he build a stand for it so it wouldn’t break again. He accomplished all of my requests ahead of schedule and I couldn’t even tell where it broke in the first place. Horst is a great person and takes incredible pride in his craftsmanship and goes above and beyond. He is incredibly skilled and won’t be going anywhere else if I need something fixed, created, or customized. We commissioned two end tables from Horst. We gave him photos and measurements of what we wanted and he created two gorgeous tables that are just exactly what we had hoped for. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the wood and the finish beautiful, and Horst is a wonderful person as well. The design process was easy and Horst sent us photos of the tables in-process, which was fun to see.
