Country Flooring Direct — Local services in Pegram

Wow!!! I truly do not know where to start. I had carpet in a house my sister and I co-owned. I purchased her half of the house and knew the carpet had to go. I drove by this business to/from work daily. When I told my brother I was ready to do the floors he called 4 businesses to get quotes for waterproof/scratch resistant flooring. The first two came and he met them they measured looked over the first floor and quoted. To be quite honest I thought wow, I’m not sure I can afford to have the type flooring installed I wished for. The third was Country Flooring Direct. A young man came, measured and was so kind and helpful answering questions. While his dad does pricing he gave a lowest to possible highest quote, but encouraged us to come Saturday to the showroom and speak with his Dad and look at our flooring options. I told my brother as I would drive by this local business daily I was drawn to them. Why? I cannot give a Answer to that honestly. I just felt it in my gut. My brother and I got ready Saturday morning and went to their showroom. First off, when I stepped inside I felt comfort and very positive energy. We were shown sever types of flooring the same color, thickness and qualities i desired by the son. His father was on his way in for the morning. His father arrived and immediately felt like family as the two sons. He actually asked the son to pull out a specific flooring he thought I would like and #boom. He NAILED it. We started talking price etc. and their prices you WILL NOT beat with other flooring companies, Lowes or Home Depot with installation. I shook the owners hand and said you have my business. They were prompt, the install group was professional, kind and courteous. They removed all of the carpet, layed the flooring, did shoe moulding and thresholds perfectly. During my install I experienced a single car accident. This “family” of mine checked on me routinely, sent flowers and even came to visit me at my home. Rhonda their secretary is such a precious soul. These are the people who’s customer service is personal, goes above and beyond what you will get elsewhere and is heartfelt. I highly recommend Country Flooring Direct in Pegram, TN. I have two more rooms downstairs and these are the ONLY people that will step in my home...

I would never work with this company again. Too many headaches with little or no response if you encounter an issue after installation. The only customer response that they gave in a timely fashion was for price estimates and invoices.

List of issues: -Did not carpet the stairs that we discussed explicitly at the time of estimate and with one of their teams. -Did not put quarter-rounds on outward pointing corners after previously saying it would go all the way around the LVP installation (I have never seen a quarter round that randomly stops before the corner). -All nail holes in the quarter round are visible. No attempt to fill or even cover with paint. -Leaving tile Debris inside one of the HVAC vents and Dryer vent -Not vacuuming after the carpet installation in a room after initially saying they would vacuum. -Leaving the extra wood we were planning to use for a later renovation in the middle of a garage parking spot, when I told them to put it in inside and out of the way (after they asked where to put it). -Leaving over 10 cigarette butts in the front lawn.

After stating these issues to the first person we spoke with, he only seemed to focus on the portion regarding the carpet on the stairs and ignored anything else. He then gave a response along the lines of "someone else here knows the project better than I do so they will give you a call back this afternoon." After two days without hearing anything, we called back again to get a similar response. This happened a couple more times until we were frustrated enough to say we just want to be done with this so we can finally move into our house. They said they would give us us a discount of around 1% off the total price and an invoice appeared within 3 hours. That was the most timely or organized response that we saw from this company. In April 2018, company owner Kelvin Middleton, came out to checked on what was needed. I had soft spots in the sub-floor which needed to be replaced and tiles to be placed in the kitchen and dinning room. Was told he couldn't know if there were any more soft spots until they took off the tile. The first crew left in a hurry, without saying anything. I called the company and was told they were afraid of the dogs. The only dog they could see was a 19 year old, toothless lap dog, that was on my sister's lap. If they had said something my sister would have put him up. The next crew came out . I know nothing about floors or sub-floors, but I watched. When they started to put the tile down I assume the rest of the sub-floor was okay. (WRONG). They didn't check. Around Nov or Dec we notice more soft spot in the kitchen and dinning room. Called by insurance company to see what I needed to do. Called Mr Middleton about the floor, he came out to look at it. He agreed that his men where suppose to check the other sub-floor, but didn't and he (might) had to redone the floor with out cost. He was suppose to call my insurance, which I don't believe he's done. Now he wants me to call the insurance co. and explain why my sub-floors are falling apart.
