Where to even begin. My family and I are pemberville townies, and have always loved the iga especially the frobose meat section. Today was different. I had to count change to get gas today since I lost my debit card. And I had to be able to drive to work, so I figured money is money. I made sure to have it all counted out, in a ziplock bag and NO PENNIES because I felt so bad and embarrassed to even have to do this so I made sure it was all in silver. I get to the window, and I give the gas attendant Maria the bag of silver ($6 worth) and tell her I can count it with her and that I am so sorry. She instantly just stares at it with disgust and says she normally doesn’t do this because it isn’t rolled out. I understand she was probably busy and tired and now obviously annoyed. So I tell her again I’m really sorry and she tells me that I’m going to have to wait so she can count it all. Fair enough. I’m waiting by the window because again, I felt bad and didn’t want to just walk away. As I’m waiting, she is just beyond annoyed with me. Then she yells “THESE COINS ARE NASTY” “YOU COULD HAVE AT LEAST CLEANED THEM”. I’m sorry Maria, cleaning my coins were the last problem on my mind considering I felt guilty to even have to do this. So she then proceeds to have the coins all laid out and starts spraying them with a purple cleaner. While she’s spending the next couple minutes deep cleaning coins, she has a customer walk up inside the store and needs to buy something. She again yells “YOURE GONNA HAVE TO WAIT!” so another couple minutes go by, mind you, this took only a minute or 2 for me to count at home. As this is happening, I’m thinking “wow she must not know I can hear her...” just then, she says “ok you’re good to go” in a quieter voice and obviously I heard her, and she knew I could hear everything. I’ve worked retail and I’ve worked manager retail positions. That’s not how you treat a customer, or anyone in fact. I’m just going to assume it was a bad day for her...
Read moreMy friend and I both purchased a ribeye roast from this place $73 which included having it sliced into steaks got it home that night and prepared two of them . they were very hard to cut through then i tried chewing it you couldn't chew it. it was the worst steak I'd ever purchased. By the time I got a chance to drive all the way back here over 50 miles I could not find the receipt but who's going to drive this far to bring steak back from a place you didn't buy it from not me plus I'm not that kind of person who would be dishonest enough to do such a thing. Alls I got was attitude and snide looks from the manager here who kept saying i can't help if you don't have a receipt .so I'm out $73 for steaks you couldn't chew I wouldn't feed them to my dog she might choke on them. I told them to keep their lousy stakes.I would highly recommend going elsewhere for meat or anything else for that fact if they're going to be this rude. But they have a corner on the market because they're the only store in this area . I guess Lucky for me I live 50 miles away and can go to a dozen other stores like the House of meats! We're once or twice I had an issue with them took the item back and they replaced it no questions asked and no snotty remark or attitude...
Read moreIt's a nice store, in a quiet town. We mostly go for the meat that's locally raised and Amish baked goods. I like seeing what extras they have, here and there they have products I can't find elsewhere. It's a bit of a drive from town but completely worth it for their prices on meat and that's It's locally raised and if you want to you can even set up an appointment with them to see where the cows are raised and what they're fed and so on. I'm pretty sure they raise their own pork too. But I've never gone to see those. Anyways, it's a nice store. Stop on out to their deli for lunch, or stop in and grab some groceries for home. Prices are great and the products are fresh. Not to mention all the folks there are super...
