I don’t usually leave reviews for chain restaurants, but I felt it was worth sharing this experience for the sake of Pemberville’s already limited dining options. For context: I ordered the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki sandwich, and my wife had the meal-of-the-day, a Tuna sandwich.
Service & Staff The staff seemed fairly new and a bit unsure of the process. While that’s understandable, it might have helped if there was someone available to guide them and keep things moving smoothly. Service was a little slower than expected, and small details—like having condiments prepped and ready—were missing, which added to the delay.
Food & Preparation Only three bread options were available (including flatbread), and my sandwich cooled off by the time it was fully assembled after toasting. The sweet onion sauce ran low during my order and had to be refilled, which took some extra time. The flatbread was tricky to handle, which made it difficult for the employee to fold and cut neatly. Wrapping the sandwiches also seemed to be a challenge, and they weren’t placed in a bag, which made them hard to carry out. Unfortunately, this gave a few flies the opportunity to land on my food while I was waiting.
Quality When we got home, my wife noticed her tuna sandwich didn’t have mayonnaise mixed in, leaving it dry and less flavorful than usual.
Overall While the staff was polite, the overall experience could have been better with more training, attention to detail, and basic prep work ahead of time. I think with some improvements, this Subway could provide the quick and reliable experience people expect...
