Took my dog their around 5 years ago and totally got judged for having tattoos and my dogs nails being long. My dog literally will not even poop without me and sleeps in my bed....The vet acted like i was some abusive owner towards my dog because his nails were overgrown. He had an attitude and then asked i step out so he can talk to my girlfriend when i got an attitude back. Also at that time he asked i leave my dog in their with them. I was already stressed because he had not been pooping right so i was worried about my boy and his stomach. My ex wasn't looked at with the trust my dog looked at me with and he is scared of vets. In regards to the nails they are black and the hardest to cut. I had accidently clipped to much of his nail and more blood than i would like came out so from then on out i paid to have them cut ( again he has black nails). Due to not knowing he would have poop problems as it progressed for months because he would have on and off days of being fine and having to get vet money saved up! The nails took a back seat in priority for 2 months. He attempted to lie and claimed it was because she used her card to pay at first even though i actually paid for it with my money and we just used her card and she told him that. He also claimed it was about the dog but not me and he could only discuss it with her. Which i told him about 10 times its not her dog its my dog and had been for 7 years and every vet visit besides this one i did alone. So i dont recommend this place as these people are very judgmental. Would of wrote this review years ago when it happened but didn't out of fear of backlash when an emergency happened with my boy. Since then i have moved and had much better experiences. The attitude i received wasn't acceptable and he was acting like he was going to try and take my dog from me because i didn't let him disrespect me. My ex had to text me and tell me because he was being shady and wouldn't just be upfront in front of me and she knew i would of went off in that place had he tried that. He isolated my girlfriend to ask her if i abused my dog based off of nothing but me and him disagreeing. Made both of us feel really uncomfortable and judged when my dog wont even use the restroom unless he knows his daddy has his back. Unless its an absolute emergency i would not take your dog to this place unless you're ready to check someone being disrespectful and trying to play a custody game with your beloved pet when you dont take it...
Read moreIt is absurd that you can't get accurate pricing for an appointment over the phone. I can't walk into somewhere not knowing what I will pay, I'm on a very limited income. Two different people told me it would be $38 to see all four kittens. Walked in there so I could get an estimate on getting them fixed and lo and behold it's $38 per cat which I was told after agreeing to and then administering vaccines that I could only afford with the litter pricing (because rabies is $30 a pop which is crazy for the one year). So now I can't afford bills or groceries this week putting me further in the hole with late fees. Despite me stating this and trying to work it out it was basically a sorry, but this is still the price attitude. I saw somewhere in answers to other reviews they do $1 visits for new clients to be able to give them estimates on vaccines or surgeries but that's bull because they won't budge on the $38 per animal even though it only took 20-30 mins to briefly check and weigh all four and give them shots and we're new clients. Also, their rabies shots are way pricier than other places I called. Had I gotten honest pricing info over the phone I never would have come in the first place. Planning on going elsewhere to get them fixed since I can't be confident in pricing and I can't afford to show up and have the bill be doubled or quadrupled suddenly like that. I have kids to feed and bills to pay.
The actual vet is very nice, so if you don't care about price have at it but if you're on a limited budget go elsewhere. Wish I had looked at other reviews a little closer before going, could have saved myself $200.
Editing to add: Yes, I was told it would be $38 for ALL FOUR kittens to be seen two different times over the phone, not for each kitten so didn't feel I needed to ask that before the exam/vaccines. Had I known that it would be $38 per cat I wouldn't have agreed to the vaccines but I wasn't told that until it was too late. I tried the low cost place and they wouldn't call me back for over a month or answer their phones. You did not give me a total prior to anything being done at all, don't try that with me. Thank you for making sure your precious PR is taken care of, that's what's important right?
Editing again for the sake of anybody looking for HONEST clinics: Go to Fall Creek or Mount Comfort Animal Hospital. Not only are they more affordable, they...
Read moreI really can't say enough about this clinic. We had a minor emergency pop up on Friday evening. After calling "Several" emergency vet clinics only to be told they had 5 hours or more wait time and then that the price would be $135 for just the ER Visit ...we decided to try a few things at home. Come Saturday morning we knew this was not something we could take care of on our own.
We have been in Fortville for a year now but never moved to a vet closer. (We have one dog that has very high anxiety and it takes her a while to warm up to a vet. I didn't want to have to go through all of that again.) Fortunately for us it was the other dog that had the emergency. So not sure what to do as our normal vet was not open on Saturday's. I called the clinic and spoke with the receptionist. She was very friendly, calming, and even though we aren't their patients still treated me as if we were. Dr. Crabtree agreed to squeeze us in. Within the hour we were seen and back home again with minimal cost compared to what i was quoted the night previously.
Dr. Crabtree was amazing. During these times with COVID 19, they are doing cub side care. I won't lie it was a bit concerning to just hand your pup over to a stranger and not be able to see them. But the staff was awesome. It was raining and Dr. Crabtree still came out to talk to us in the rain. He was very friendly, very informative, took his time explaining to me how such a small cut could make my home look like a CSI crime scene. He explained what he had tried to do, what he was able to do, what our next options were and what he recommended. Not one time did i feel pressured one way or another. He was very informative with pricing and knew exactly what it was going to cost.
The whole office took great care of our pup, treated us like we were already a part of their clinic, and for that i can't be grateful enough. Link is doing amazing, he is healing, and best news my house no longer looks like a crime scene.
We may have not been clients of their before but we will definitely be clients of theirs in the near future.
To the clinic i would like to say thank you for working us in, being compassionate and amazing...we can't wait to become part of this clinic.
P.S. It might take Zelda a little more time to be as happy as Link is there but we know with time and patience we will get her to like you guys just as much...
