I would give this post zero stars if I could. My wife and I drove down to the post after visiting the local American Legion Post. I was curious about joining, so I said let's take a trip down to grab a drink and talk about joining.
When we arrived, we rang the bell to enter. We were greeted by a woman to ask what we wanted. I said that I'm a veteran and my wife and I wanted to have a drink and talk about the organization and membership. The woman told us that they only allowed members to enter. Confused, I asked how could I become a member of I can't come in and talk to someone about membership. She shrugged her shoulders and that was that.
We walked back to our vehicle and left. Never in my life have I been so disrespected by a veteran organization (I'm a member of both the American Legion and VFW). It seems as though locals don't care if you're a veteran or not, they just use it as the locals' clubhouse. If you're a veteran, stay away from this place! It'll only piss you off.
