I love shopping here. Wide selection of fresh fruits, vegetables and everyday groceries. They also have a large selection on fresh flowers. It is almost impossible to pass by without taking some fresh flowers for someone you love or just for yourself. I reduced one star, despite some of my co-writers stated that they love the bakery and their fresh bred etc. Indeed Bashas' has a large backery in this store. However, as I shop mainly late afternoons or evening I always pass empty rackets, baskets etc. I know they keep some pre-backed bred in their coolroom, as one of their kind employee once told me. "Whenever the racks are empty ask for the ones in the walk-in refrigerator". When purchased, you only need to put them for a couple of minutes in your preheated oven/stove and you get the freshest bred you can have. It happened twice to me, when I asked them politly whether they could check their coolroom for prebacked bred, that they refused to check and simply denied that there are any. To end with something positive, despite the lack of service from the people working at the bakery, the ones at the register and packer are absolutely great! Always friendly, attentive and helpful - no comparison to the one from WalMart....
To all teachers and lecturers out there. I know my english is not perfect. It lacks on grammar, spelling and punctuation. I was not born in the US and never learned english at school. I teached myself through travelling and contacts and I'm still learning. Therefore, please excuse my errors but I hope you understand what I'm...
Read moreWow. Worst store I’ve ever been to. Their quality of food is terrible. I’m not just talking about fresh foods like produce or bakery. I’m talking dry foods too. I bought a bag of chips and opened them to eat and they were stale. Turned out there was a tiny slice on top of the bag that I missed. Went to buy cheese. Almost grabbed one that was COVERED in mold. Put it back down and grabbed a different one. Got home and noticed it was expired a month ago!! I don’t always check dates but at this place, you need to!! The place has limited selection compared to most stores. I didn’t complete my shopping by far because they didn’t have half of what I needed. It’s not the most cleanliness store either. It looks kinda ran down and dirty. The workers look like they were hired off the streets. Sorry but they just don’t look presentable at all. One girl looked like a druggie and they are dressed ruggedly. No pride in that store at all. From the food to the workers, it’s basically all horrible. Will never shop there again. What’s funny is I don’t remember it being like this in the past. I just know it’s worse than the most ghetto Walmart out there....
Read moreAvoid at all costs. The worst checkout in Phoenix. If you see "Lynn" on the name tag, run or just hang yourself on the spot. Numerous worst case scenarios of customer service.
Tonight's adventure found me behind a "lady" buying numerous items, paying through the single check out line with an out of state CHECK from an unrecognized bank that caused me, next guy in line with cash, DISASTER.
"Lynn" who has been a disaster of several transactions in the past, played along with the woman from Washington State while her daughter, able to quickly correct the matter, stood by motionless while the single line piled up and the transaction prolonged with the addition of a local address on the check, a lot of girly smiles and pleasantries while I waited, cash in hand. Who the hell tries to pass a out of state check at a grocery store without knowing the consequences? Again, the daughter stands by, pretending to be clueless.
There is a gender gap and a severe customer service problem at this store. There are some good people there but avoid "Lynn". This business IS NOT RECOMMENDED. OVER...
