Although most customers are pretty rude, that's not the fault of Aldi or its employees. If we had a bigger store here it would be 10x better since it always gets super crowded with our smaller store. Prices are pretty good, for me it's cheaper than Walmart. I can get the same fruits and vegetables at both Aldi and Walmart, but at Aldi I may only spend $15 on it all versus Walmart could be $30+ (I've done this before, as I also shop at Walmart). Definitely one of the cheaper stores around here, and when they do have fruit in stock it always looks way better than the fruit at Walmart, and it also doesn't seem to go bad as fast/it's more fresh. Sure, meat is expensive, but no matter where you go it's expensive. Aldi definitely has better looking meat than places like Walmart, though, and their prices for meat are typically a bit cheaper than Walmart; though maybe not that much cheaper. That's just how it is with some products!
Overall, this store is great, and the only grievances I have are things that the employees cannot control (such as wanting a bigger store and customers...
Read moreI have been a frequent Aldi shopper in the South side of Chicago since it opened around 1970's. This is the best Aldi that I have seen. The cashiers are always friendly & willing to assist customers. I always moved quickly through the lines during check out. (They should teach the associates at Walmart how to cashier?), plus always plenty of stock on hand. Today, they are remodeling the store & it was clearly marked where they didn't want you to go, plus I always see someone bring out more stock & checking the dates, straightening the store so it look pretty good. I think for the value you get @Aldi, this is a great place to shop & will be better when the remodel is complete. I mainly purchase meat here because their ground turkey is 93% fat free & they have a lowfat line that is wonderful. I don't think I save any money shopping here because I do purchase more seasonal items, etc. I do however, get more bang for my buck at Aldi so I get more in value & that's okay. Great job!...
Read moreI went here on May 6, 2023 to do my bi-weekly grocery shopping. It's not the store I normally go to but I was a little short on money so you gotta do what you gotta do. Things were easy enough to find and I got everything I needed, and the prices were great too.
The problem came at checkout. The checkout process was so needlessly convoluted. There was absolutely nobody working any checkout lane, so I was forced to use the self-checkout, which I shouldn't have to do since I don't work there. After the computer continually yelling at me to hurry up (yes, it actually repeatedly yells at you if you aren't fast enough) I had to put my card in three separate times before the jank software would recognize it. And after that, it made me use a SEPARATE card for 60-something cents for the bags, because universe-forbid a coin input should be installed in the machines.
Aldi needs human workers at their checkout lines. Because checkout was so needlessly stressful, I will not...
