I would not recommend that anyone has their computer repaired at Professional Satellite Repair. I was having an issue with my iMac randomly shutting down and then it would become hot when it would restart. I purchased the computer back towards the end of 2016 on Amazon and purchased the Smartguard Protection Plan through Amazon. I never received any notification as to what was going on with the computer or when it would be shipped back. I only knew it was on its way back because Fedex sent me a notification showing that it would need to be signed for. I opened the box and it was very well packaged, but when I pulled it out of the packing there was a big dent in the front of the Aluminium stand and there was dents up the back of the stand. I booted the computer up and noticed that the fan in the computer was running non-stop and was loud. I called into their support line to talk about the physical damage to the computer and the issue with the fan. I also wanted to call in to see what was actually fixed because they cannot tell the customer on the repair order what was fixed because the warranty company is the one being billed for the repair. I spoke with a women named Victoria, who was nice and willing to help. She said the Logic Board in the computer was replaced. She noted my concerns with the computer and said the computer was likely damaged during shipping and she would file a damage claim with FedEx. I had to package the computer back up and have it picked up and shipped back to Fedex for a "Damage Assessment" and from there it goes back to PSR to be evaluated for damage and to determine what needs fixed. Fedex denied damaging the computer and I believe them. Once it arrived at PSR I received a call from the guy who repaired my computer, which was a guy named John. He was hostile from the minute i answered the phone. He said I have your Imac here, why is this back in for repair? I tried explaining the damage and what was going on with the Fedex claim and he cuts me off and says "No, I need to know why this is back in for repair." I explained the issue with the fan first and he said "well macs do not breathe well and Apple designs them to fry themselves within six years." I said that is great but the computer is not six years old and that does not explain why the ran is running all the time. He says " I installed a software that will make the fan run harder to keep the computer cool." Really got no where with the fan issue so then I went on to talk about the damage. This is where he got really hostile and said "well I see some small dents and your warranty is not going to cover cosmetic damage. I then said I do not care if its a small dent or a huge dent, that is a $2000 computer that looked new when it was shipped in. I had taken pictures before and after it was shipped and it was easy to see the damage. He said" well I heard you have pictures of the computer before and we will need those for proof that there was no damage. and then says oh I did notice a dent on the top of the screen when I was looking it over. Never heard back after a week of emailing the pictures in, so I called in and was told they had submitted a claim to the warranty company to have the purchase price of the computer refunded to me because it was being deemed Un-repairable. I received an email last Friday from the warranty company letting me know the claim was approved and I would be receiving a refund. I then went and emailed PSR (they were closed at this point) to ask them if they could remove the RAM sticks from my computer and ship them back to me so I could use them in my new computer. The RAM in there was only a few months old and I had spent $160 on the RAM. I received an email today (Tuesday) that the computer has already been shipped out for salvage and they don't have a way to get me the RAM. Instead of asking if there was anything from the computer I needed, they just shipped it off to the dump. Not happy that I have to order new RAM now because I could not get the RAM out of...
Read moreI had purchased a protection plan when I bought my tablet through Amazon. When the tablet failed to charge in just a little over a year of owning it, I was told to send it to the Professional Satellite Repair Company. They sent me a mail-in label and I shipped it off. I heard nothing more, not even a notification that they were finished and shipping it back. When it did arrive, the tablet was in exactly the same condition I had sent it to them. Exactly the same problem. In the Box was a paper that said that my device had been repaired, cleaned, tested and inspected. Obviously totally untrue! And now I'm at their Mercy needing to send it back to them to try again. From now on I will buy my electronic products at Best Buy and use the Geek Squad plan, because my experience with them on other devices was 100% better, from Best Buy doing the shipping themselves to notifications of every step of the way to a...
Read moreI purchased a brand new, high end Dell desktop from Amazon, and also bought the extended warranty. 1.5 years later I had to utilise the warranty, and I was directed to PSR. I sent my desktop, with 8 gb RAM, to them. When it was returned to me 3 weeks later I noticed it was running slowly, or sometimes not at all. (By the way PSR told me in a telephone call they are not authorized to work on Windows computers--so why was my computer sent to them in the first place?).
Anyway my grandson was visiting me today and noticed how slow and useless my desktop is. I told him it is unusable since repair, and now I must use my laptop. He went into my and saw that the system has only 4mb RAM, whereas when I bought it it had 8 RAM! Somebody at PSR took out my nice, new RAM and switched in a slower, incompatible and lacking-parity 4 RAM...
