Weis Markets — Local services in Philipsburg

I'm so glad that there is a Weis near me. I relocated to Central PA from Seattle about 4 years ago. I really like that they have a large variety of goods that I can't find at the local Walmart. I do find the prices to be a bit high. But, sometimes, I just have to buck-up and pay for the convenience. The older employees can be kind of a pain. Some are friendly and helpful, but some of the gal's here are so over their jobs and don't smile or interact in a friendly manner. Like I said, the prices can be a bit higher, most items are on sale with their club card. So even if you shop here occasionally, I suggest you get one. The store is also always very clean and neat. I do enjoy thier vegan meat section. Sure, I could drive into State College and pay less, but I am glad that they do offer more options than the Walmart in Clearfield. Also, the Angel dream donuts are one of my favorite donuts! I want to eat them all!! Parking lot can get a little crazy, you just have to smile and wave and make eye-contact. I like that they have things that are sometimes hard to find...

Called to order a pizza on Friday evening; called a few minutes before 7:00, when they answered they said they were closed, but they shouldn’t have been according to the “actual” schedule. We have had numerous problems at this Weis, from the cash register ringing up the wrong price and the supervisor saying they couldn’t give a refund because no one was there to authorize it and we would need to return another day to get our refund. Also items marked one price ringing up differently and their answer, that was last weeks special / price and wasn’t taken down and the price was not hood at that time... no accountability and very poor or little to no customer service. This is probably the worst local grocery store in the area, definitely prefer and would recommend HomeTown Market over...

My wife stopped in 1 week before my daughters birthday party on 11-19 to order a full sheet cake. Was told 9am pick up. I called Wednesday before the 19th to confirm price and details. They had pick up somehow for the 11th of November. I changed that to the 19th and was told 930am which was perfect. I get here this morning to get the cake and behold…no cake because now the pick up time is 630pm, 4 hours after the end of of my daughters party! The only thing the gentleman says to me is “Sorry. There’s nothing I can do.” And just left it at that. Absolutely the worst service in the face of a problem and no offer to fix the issue in another way! Do not use this bakery. They’ll probably screw up your order...
